  1. After many years of reviewing and the last couple of not doing much at all due to family commitments its time i resign completely from the reviewing team. I have let Groundspeak know and I am no longer going to have the powers i once had. I have handed back my cape and I no longer wear my undies on the outside (the better half likes this part the most.) It was a pleasure to approve the many caches I did in my term as a reviewer and I can say I did have a good time even if it did kill of my caching time. cheers. embi.
  2. This topic is to let you know about the regional geocaching organizations near you. These groups sponsor event caches and online forums where geocachers in the same area can get to know each other and share information. Geocaching organizations play a pivotal role in maintaining good relations with the land managers for the parks and forests where we play our game. Getting involved in your local group is a great way to make new friends and find answers to questions about the local caching scene. It is up to representatives of the organizations to maintain this thread as a list of links to the Geocaching Groups in Australia. Please feel free to write a brief post about your geocaching group, giving its name, the area where most of its members live, and a link to the group's website, forums or mailing list. If your information changes later on, post a follow-up post. Please do not use this pinned topic to promote individual events or initiatives that your group is undertaking. You can start separate topics for those. The moderating team may split out off topic posts into their own threads. Finally, please note that this thread is not an endorsement by Groundspeak of any organization. It's just a convenient list of links. Thanks! embi
  3. I am after one each of the Compass Rose Geocoin 2005 & 2006. Does anyone want to sell me one. I am after unactivated ones please. I am collecting them for my Daughter who is 18 months old. Thank you.
  4. can we have embi, J & lil miss embi If need be just have.. lil miss embi
  5. It may help if you add where you are from but there are usually many events that pop up from time to time and there is sure to be something in your area. Also the Aussie forums at Geocaching AU may be an easier spot to find local cachers.
  6. Is there a way to import the cache page images. I spent ages today looking for a cache only to give up. When i returned home I realised that an image was part of the cache and without the image the cache can not be found. I realise that GPX files dont have images included but is there a way to grab them with GSAK so they can be included when sent to the colorado?
  7. Ah this is the info I needed....thanks...
  8. Sure. Just install them on a SD card. I have mine on a 4GB card. Thanks
  9. Is it possible to have more than one mapset in the Colorado at the same time? I cant seem to work out how.
  10. Just worked it out. It must have the GC code not a smart name generated by GSAK.
  11. I have been marking caches found on the colorado but when I use the field notes upload it says The file has the following. Seems I guess that it should work. Any hints? ideas?
  12. No I mean they are off as far as location by x meters. I'm just wondering how accurate the maps are as far as coords go?
  13. I've managed to get html cache pages that I generate from GSAK onto the itouch. Its a matter of basically sending them via wifi with cuteftp pro into a folder on the itouch. Then after installing a copy of apache server on the itouch just opening the link on the itouch safari. No mess no fuss. and no wifi etc needed once your out on the road. Its all stored on the itouch. I am going away for the weekend but when I get back I'll write up a tutorial on how to do it. It does require jailbreaking the itouch though.

  15. I have setup my zone locations and when I run it through the emulator they are way out on the maps. Any reason for this?
  16. Thought it would be simple. I added the -1 in the distance range and all was fixed. thanks guys.
  17. I am working on a cartridge to take a tour of Melbourne, Australia. I have got my start point and the second point, but I can not work out how to make the second point visible when the person is at the start point. i have tried many different things in the builder but nothing shows "ocations to go" in the emulator. I have set the cartridge to activate and make visible the second point on start up. But it still doesnt show. Surely this is not as hard as i seem to be making it. Any help will be greatly recieved.
  18. You are truly a legend. Thanks for the fix... I would have had no idea. I'll keep an eye out for wrong quotations etc.
  19. I'm having the same error as the first post and I am very frustrated. I have spent about 2 days on this now and I feel like chucking the whole thing away. Does anyone have any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated. All I have been doing is adding zones and characters and 1 item. I've added the attachment below. Marvelous_Melbourne.zip
  20. I'm trying to come up with a design for a stamp we can have made up for when we are caching. I thought I could speed up the process if others could show me what they have done with thier designs. What info have you included. I'd love to see some pics if you can too. Thanks in advance. embi
