  1. Aha. I didn't realise this. Also wasn't aware I had done five lab caches (thought I'd done my first one today). Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I appreciate it.
  2. Hi everyone, I've got 2797 finds according to geocaching.com, but when I pull MyFinds PQ through to GSAK, I'm only getting 2792 coming through. Is there a way I can find the discrepancy easily without manually cross checking? I'm assuming its a double logging situation, but I've been away from caching for a while, and have forgotten how to do this kind of stuff. Thanks for your help :-) Sally AKA Saddler21
  3. Aynuk & Ayli ;-) You can tek tha girl outta the Black Countray... (Sorry. Walsall born and bred)
  4. SORRY. I think I've put this in the wrong place - should be in the UK section. Mods, could you delete this please?
  5. Hi, I'm on the lookout for a lead to connect my Garmin E-Trex to my computer, so I can download co-ords straight in to my GPS. I have no idea what the going rate for these things are, but I'm sure someone out there has a spare one that they'd be willing to part with for a fair price. Can anyone help a cacher with a sore finger from entering co-ords manually?! Thanks, Saddler21
  6. This is amusing. I actually know someone who works at the NR HQ at Euston in a very relevant department and I'm seeing what I can dig up. She's quite bemused as to why one of the Comms Execs is giving the generic customer service number out to people on his email sig though. There's no way to be put through to the NRHQ from that number, and everyone at that office has an DD 0207 number. The name rings no bells with her, which is funny, as she's a Manager in the Comms Department, and it's really not that big. Just food for thought. Or Cache for questions, depending on how you look at it.
  7. So, if we have to stop doing geocaching activity in any RP, I'm stuck - I consider walking to be an essential part of geocaching. So, are they banning geocachers from walking on the land?
  8. Under bushes and in hedges no doubt. Pot calling the kettle a rather dark colour! May I refer you to the Barnes Bonus?!
  9. Not sure it will be the perfect solution, but I'm flying to Vancouver, Canada in three weeks time? I've got some caching planned out there...
  10. Speak for yourself - I cycled 20 miles to go and get MR4 Tuesday night ! (although t be fair - Sunday was a bit of a write off). LinseyG I didn't walk straight until Tuesday. On Sunday, I was seriously considering my chances of getting into work because I hurt too much to move. I thank the god of pharmacy for Deep Heat and Naproxen.
  11. Just to note, the 9-member "Team Whatever" completed 109/109 of the Chiltern Hundred caches on Saturday in 10hrs and 54mins. And now we're all knackered.
  12. There's a group of 10 of us doing it tomorrow - see you there!
  13. Good, thanks. She has her moments, but generally gets the job done.
  14. Did you check out all the nooks and crannies for the cache? They were doing enough of that themselves
  15. No, but they scarpered when I faked a phone call about 20ft away. A caching friend later suggested I should have asked them to sign the log...
  16. I stumbled upon a couple en flagrante at GC1FTR6 today. Inconsiderate sods were right on top of GZ
  17. Thank you for all your comments. I've just been told by the cache owner that he's not going to reinstate my log. I'm not going across London for a third time to sort out a virtual, so I guess this one will be consigned to history. I'm not going to bash my head against a brick wall over it. Thanks again. S
  18. You don't go back, you re-log with the same date, even with the same text from your deleted log, (you would have got an email with a link to that log) just this time upload the picture that you have failed to upload so far. Not sure why the laughter. I said above that I would have to go back because I don't keep the photos after I've logged them. So, I would have to go back again to get the pic. To clarify - I got the picture. I uploaded the picture after a delay agreed with the owner. I got the necessary email confirmation. Six weeks later, my log was deleted. S'not fair. *Sniffs*
  19. To be honest, I don't see why I should make a THIRD visit to a cache that I've already logged legitimately and with the cache owners permission for a delay. I don't keep every hand and GPSr photo that I take. If I did, my hard drive would be clogged with pictures of my Maggy and they're really not interesting enough to keep! I'm also not sure I want to drag myself across London in case the owner decides to delete on a whim again.
  20. Hi Guys, Quick and simple question really. Does a cache owner have the "right" to delete your found log, even though you have matched all of the criteria requested, just because he feels like it? Back at the start of May, I logged a Virtual involving a question which required an email confirmation before logging and a photograph of an item and the GPSr. I obtained the email confirmation straight away and set about logging on the site. I came to upload the picture as an "edit" and found that the photo was unusable due to the light. As I had already "logged", I left the log in place. Within a couple of hours, I had quite a terse email from the cache owner telling me that I had to get a photo up within 24 hours otherwise the log would be deleted. I explained what had happened, and that due to work commitments, I wouldn't be able to get back to the site for another 48hours to get a new picture. He accepted this, and said that if I could do this ASAP, he'd be grateful. So, I tootle across town, with a proper camera rather than a mobile this time, and log the pic as promised. Now today, six weeks after I logged the picture, the owner has deleted my log. Can he do this? He was aware that it wouldn't be within 24 hours due to work, and he said this was ok, yet six weeks later, he's obviously taken umbrage and hit delete. To say I'm annoyed is an understatement. I'm guessing his next move, after I've posted this, will be to delete the logs of the other 20 odd virtuals of this that I've evidently wasted days walking for, and £s in photo text messages for. So, over to you experts. What are my rights?! PS I've tried to edit the title - I went haywire with my "s" key - but I don't seem to be able to do it. Grrrr. It's a bad geocaching.com day!
  21. Completed this series in 9.5hours with AmblingFree today. God, I'm knackered now! Great series, and good on Firelanterns for setting the series.
  22. I'd tentatively be up for it. I was toying with the idea of doing it over this coming BH weekend (an extra day recovery time) but if there's enough interest, I'll hold off until the June date.
  23. Boats2 dragged me into it. It was mentioned over dinner in Pizza Express at the O2 and it just sounded like the hobby I'd been looking for all my life. Game over. Since then, I've bought Stevo-the-Saddler into the fold. I think he's forgiven me.
