Checking status on this? Could it include a PMO filter on the map? Maybe something like this mockup:
-
No, there is a difference: non PM will just not see PMO caches on the map. Hans There IS a difference to me: I cannot now determine if a cache is PMO from the map until I open the cache page. NOT liking that one bit!! [FEATURE] PMO status on map popup
-
Now that the icons don't differentiate whether the cache is Premium Member or not, I would like the map popup to show it, like in this mockup: An acceptable alternative would be implementation of this already-submitted feature request: SUBMITTED (25439) - [FEATURE] Do away with audit log

Bonding Magnets to Plastic - Best Adhesive?
frinklabs replied to GiantCappuccino's topic in General geocaching topics
I have a test Lock n Lock container outside that has magnets attached to its outside with Sugru It has handled the summer ok so far; we'll see what's its condition in the spring. Has anyone else used this for caching successfully or otherwise? -

Correct coords for all cache types - why?

I nosed around in the Project-GC forums a bit and couldn't find any info on whether it is possible to write a checker for a bingo-style challenge what requires unique cache types in each row/column? Like this one: https://coord.info/GC24RB8

Log a find on a cache I've adopted?
frinklabs replied to gasbottle's topic in General geocaching topics
The path of least resistance for me, to avoid messing up both my found and hidden stats, was to create another account that is for the caches I adopted. (which I had already found) -
They must be working on it -- why else would they change the subject line of a request to include SUBMITTED and include what I presume is a helpdesk-like ticket number? (24998) "SUBMITTED" just indicates that they've acknowledged the request and entered it into their tracking system, where it could potentially sit until the end of time. It doesn't mean the request is actively being worked on. If a request was actively being worked on, I would expect the title to be updated to something like "IN PROGRESS" or similar. Of course, that won't happen either. They stopped tagging the thread titles long ago, likely because that could be considered "responding" and... In short, a more accurate way to introduce your list of links would have been, "This has been requested before." Saying it's being worked on is inaccurate and gives false hope. False hope is better than none at all. Until they come back and explicitly say that they are NOT working on a feature, I have to give them the benefit of the doubt. Here's an example of a request that appears to be working its way through their system, based on the alteration of forum topic subject lines: SUBMITTED (32023) - [FEATURE] Allow user-corrected co-ordinates on ALL caches STARTED (32023) - [FEATURE] Update Traditional Coordinates Interesting (to me) that they'd use two different topics to show progress on the same ticket number. Meanwhile, I think it is fair to say that I have unrealistic expectations regardless of whether they respond or not.
-
Tru dat, but it isn't a fair comparison, project-scope-wise. Besides, as we have seen, if they were going to explicitly NOT implement the feature, its subject line would have been prefaced with DECLINED EDIT: typo

They must be working on it -- why else would they change the subject line of a request to include SUBMITTED and include what I presume is a helpdesk-like ticket number? (24998) Eventually the subject line should be changed to COMPLETED and there will be much rejoicing.

Instead of tapping the link, hold your finger on it. A selector will pop up which should have selectable choices including Open in Safari Open in "Geocaching" -
Corrected Coordinates for Wherigo
frinklabs replied to Twinklekitkat's topic in General geocaching topics
Theoretically, you should not have to do that much longer as they are working on an update: SUBMITTED (32023) - [FEATURE] Allow user-corrected co-ordinates on ALL caches Letterbox Hybrids: corrected coordinate? Extend Corrected Coordinates Use Allow Changing of Coordinates of caches other than puzzle Wherigo - Correct coordinates Enable Corrected Coords on ALL Cache Types Correct coordinates by the letterbox geocaches Correct Coordinates Not Available? User corrected coordinates - feature request "Correct these coordinates" for all cache types Cannot edit coordinates [FEATURE] Corrected Coordinates also for Letterboxes and Wherigos Corrected Coordinates Can't correct coordinates anymore -
I'd rather second or third than first and maintain stats on those finds. I use the Special List gsak macro to tag those and generate a list of them.
-
Go into Settings then Notifications. You will see a list of all your applications and their set notifications styles. Scroll to the Geocaching app in the list and tap on it. You should see this, and be able to disable what you don't want: EDIT: Smaller image

Power Trail Attribute - Please!
frinklabs replied to DragonsWest's topic in General geocaching topics
I believe the post was, "We have the request in our database to create a "part of a series" attribute. That's not quite the same... I believe there is cogent discussion about those very differences in that thread, and subsequent request threads: Attribute: Power Trail 'Power Trail' cache attribute New Attribute - PWT Suggestion for an attribute.
