  1. I found a cache that was about 25 feet off the trail while offroading last weekend. I brought the container back and signed the log on the hood of my Xterra. I had set my GPS on the winch bumper and returned the cache back to it's hiding spot, got in the truck and proceeded down a hill. Then I heard something hit the ground so I stopped & sure enough, the GPS had fallen off the bumper & I ran it over. Somehow it survived and now has a scar to remind me about it.
  2. Hey Tim, I've met or already know a few other NW Arkansas cachers but I'm not sure how many actually use the forums on here.
  3. My wife & I could probably go this weekend. When & where?
  4. My take on this is that it's fine when done properly, meaning the owner of the cache isn't running around collecting all the nearby bugs just to go place them in his/her own cache. For awhile, many people wouldn't drop TB's in this area because of it. And in the few instances that they would drop them off around here, they wouldn't log the TB on the site until someone stumbled upon it & sent an e-mail to the last TB holder. Since the mass of them were rescued, including one of mine, this cache has tamed down. A few of us went out & located it and we each dropped off a TB or 2 that was in our possession. If you start one, you should at least "eat what you cook" by starting it with your own TB's. People will take/place TB's in the prison if you set the tone of the cache & not be an a** about it.
  5. Yes, here's my log from "Doing the Nasty": "My wife & I caught some chick pissing right off the side of the trail while coming back from a geocache. It took me a moment to realize wtf I was seeing because it's not exactly something you come up on all the time out in the woods. We stopped & turned our backs to her until we heard her walking again. She walked right by us, unembarassed, like nothing happened. Not quite "doing the nasty" but another type of nasty...."
  6. Here you go. This Sunday....Not quite NW Arkansas but pretty dadgum close. I'll be there to meet some of the local cachers. MISSOURI INTERNATIONAL CITO 2004

  8. I agree. If you don't like them, just don't do them. Issue resolved.
  9. I'm in NW Arkansas but I would probably travel to Central Arkansas for a caching event.
  10. I'm have a split take on this: I don't think it's wrong to revisit a cache to get a TB as long as your helping it in it's mission. I don't agree with what the IFS AND BUTS Caching Club is doing though. They've managed to drain our area dry of TB's lately all for the self amusement of their prison cache. They put one of mine in there that had just got into circulation. I think the prison cache is a good idea in the sense of punishing those TB's who are already straying from their mission but it shouldn't be every TB that makes it into NW Arkansas ends up in this prison. Cudo's to RuffRider, Cardinal, and Rich-Faith for rescuing all prisoners on the 20th. Who cares if they are whining about how you exchanged the bugs out. It's getting old not seeing TB's around here because of how they play the "game".
  11. Glad to hear you made it out of that situation alright. I hate snakes and there are a lot of copperheads around here. It won't be long & they'll be all over.
  12. I found 3 normal caches today and 1 travel bug. I started 2 new travel bugs on their journeys today and also hid 2 new geocaches today that are waiting approval although they aren't based around it being leap year.
  13. I'm interested in it! (I'm in NW Arkansas) I just bought my kayaks last year and also have a 4x4 that I could also use to get to it.
