  1. I used Claris works umpteen years ago to create my avatar. These days, I'd be more inclined to use something like The Gimp (mentioned above).
  2. TarheelSleuths - Is that the side of a fire station? (I'm assuming so, but I've been told never to assume)
  3. It hasn't done my dishes yet.
  4. Obviously I missed the event as well. I guess I need to be more dilligent about checking this thread.
  5. You know... I tried that. I must not have tried hard enough. I figured it had to be that easy... but I was in a hurry this morning. I'll try again.
  6. Very much so... now I just need to figure out how to get it into 'offline mode' (Yes, I'm still new to GSAK... does it show? )
  7. That's currently not possible. Look at the 'wish list' under the pinned threads on the Benchmark forum.
  8. I don't know if this has been answered or not, but is it possible to change the display order of the headings? I was unsuccessful when I was trying to figure out how to log a find this morning. (I finally found the checkbox to turn on the 'found' checkbox), but I was wanting it more to the left... or would it be more convenient to have two different views to do this? Thanks!
  9. Henry W. Coe... is that the one that's just north of Big Basin? (Sorry... too lazy to look it up on the web at the moment)
  10. Congrats! As for myself, I just hit 4! WOOHOO!!
  11. Um...? Did I send something incorrectly, Fly? Please let me know!
  12. Heh.... I was referring to the pages on ClydeE's website. Curretly, I'm looking for a way to put in my notes that I make. I use Cachemate when I'm out unsuccessfully looking for geocaches, and I make notes in my Visor... but I'm not sure how to transfer that into the logs that I have GSAK, or whether it's even possible. And then including all those logs of all the easy 1/1's I've missed onto the Geocaching webpage. I know I'm missing something here..... Ah well.
  13. I'm still learning the features of GSAK, but for jump-right-in-without-looking-first factor, I give it a 10, A+, excellent rating. Now... if I only had time to read the manual...
  14. No... that's the last I heard as well. I'm wondering if you get the Magellan that attaches to the Visor if that would actually work better. It's one of the reasons why I'm thinking of 'upgrading' from my Visor.
  15. My form's going in the mail today. Thanks for all your help, fly46!
  16. I use a Magellan 310 (Yes I know it's old and has less accuracy!! Why do you think I can't even find a 1/1 cache??)
  17. My whole take on it is this: Treat them with respect and they'll (hopefully) treat you with respect.
  18. Okay, evenfall... that makes more sense to me. For the record, I'm someone who falls into that third category. I've hunted a couple of times for benchmarks unsuccessfully, due to lack of time, etc. I got a digital camera for my birthday last year for the sole purpose of finding benchmarks. (It's since been taken over by my wife, but that's a different story ) All I can say is that I hope your proposal makes the rest of the camps happy.
  19. I also use a hydration pack (a platypus hiker), but it seems like I dont' get much chance to drink from it myself... as soon as my son sees I have it, he's insisting on grabbing the hose from me very often!!! (And he drinks like a fish!)
  20. Rob - I haven't been around for almost a year, so I may be missing something, but weren't there members of the NGS reading these posts on a regular basis at one point? Are we talking about a new forum somewhere else other than Groundspeak, or are are trying to facilitate a better way of communicating with the NGS? Sorry, but your post left me very confused...
  21. Dang... discovered this too late. I don't htink I have time to get a bug and get a car to Florida. Instead, I'll be a spectator.
  22. Just because I'm ingorant, where does the information on the benchmark page come from? Does it search the USGS database based on your inquiry on the geocaching page?
  23. I spend a lot of time just humming whatever comes to me. I don't really have a good portable player... my CD/MP3 player comes close... but there's no way to attach it to my belt. More often than not, I'll probably have a two-way radio with me.
  24. Tasting, 1..2..3... tasting.... Yum!
