Well, my bug has a nice view of the ocean.... There's been some bug movement in that cache, but I don't think mine's moved yet. I think Geoff likes the view too much.

Greetings, I found in my neighborhood about 6 or 7 benchmark-like disks in the road with the legend 'city monument' on them. I was wondering if anyone could really tell me what the difference is. It looks like they are for surveying, but I was not sure. (There's a lot by me since I live over the top of a hill) Were these maybe put up by the city for some topo-similar work? Just wondering if anyone might know. Thanks!

Cool! More stuff to add to my bug page! I had to edit it a little bit because I'm a bit verbose with my descriptions, but I was able to get the information in.

As usual Robert, I forgot to take notes. The ones that I recall working were 'waypoint ('dot')' (of course), 'car', 'exit' and 'flag'. 'house' may have also worked, but I'm at a loss to remember. I'll try to get a more detailed list to you this evening.

My 12 works with GSAK pretty well. (I'm using firmware version 4.60 in the GPS). It's GPSBabel that it doesn't play well with. (Some of the waypoint icons still don't show up) I haven't had a chance to email Robert about it to see if anything can be done, but it's on my TODO list.

My email's been down for about a week. I'm relying solely on the message boards to give me any new information at the present time.

Dang... I looked for a distance filter first and didn't see it. Darn my eyes. I'll go look again....

I'm having a bit of trouble with the locations tab under 'options' I have it set up as follows: Home, N(coords), W(coords), 5 Yet, I'm still getting caches listed around my home at a distance greater than 5 miles. What am I doing wrong? (NOTE: I do have actual numbers for the coords)

I'm having trouble getting symbols exported to my GPS-12... the only one I got to work so far is the flag.

When you start cachemate up after hotsyncing the data, are you putting it in the 'unfiled' category? The problem I had importing to cachemate was combining 'regular' caches with benchmarks, and then having to separate them. But, I'd suggest checking out all the categories in cachemate.

All right... I think I have all the issues taken care of (for the most part) with GSAK... except for one thing. I'm transferring waypoints to my Garmin GPS-12, and am having trouble with the symbols. I can figure out what some of the 16 symbols available to me are (such as flag, home, campground...), but I'm trying to transfer benchmarks as circle with x (which I see on the symbol chart... no names, just symbols in the documentation... grump!), but it's coming out as a dot on the garmin (default waypoint symbol) Can someone help me correspond the symbols available for the GPS 12 to those that are listed by text in GSAK, or is there somewhere in the documentation (for either GSAK or the GPS12) that I can go to find out what the symbol names are? Thank you very much!
