  1. I was fortuante enough to be given one of these at the BAGO event yesterday. We arrived home a little later than expected, but felt the need to pop it in the DVD player anyways. We already knew that she was an AWESOME photographer, but were stunned at the quality, sheer volume and variety of picutres. If you have not seen this DVD make sure you get one at some point. I give it a big thumbs up!
  2. As a TB owner, I would not mind having someone add a tag. IMHO it adds a bit of "history" to the TB. The guys that add the tags also tend to be really good about putting miles on and taking pictures of it too. IMHO that is much more important than the issue of the tag itself. In addition to MaxB on the River I have seen tags from 5Cent and Lost Scouts.
  3. Hey! I was given one of those yesterday. It has a good home now.
  4. This is one of my newest TBs that has been getting alot of GREAT Photos Making the Cut You do however need to read the logs to understand the photos.
  5. Been ditto'd, but ditto once again. bgf 3rd Ditto! 4th ditto!
  6. This is too strange! Two of my largest (and most fun to watch) travelbugs will cross paths tomorrow. I knew they were both in Southern California but had no idea they would wind up at the same event this weekend. Chain Chomp andGeoGnome will be appearing at: Puplue Eha's Pizza 'n' Cache Bash Extravaganza! Has anyone else out there had their TB's cross paths out in the geo-universe? I would love to hear your stories!
  7. Someone snagged one out of one of your ISQ's recently: #453: Rock City
  8. I'll admit a couple of years ago I had considered these IDNR properties as possible sites. Given the stories of drunkeness, midnight swimming escapades, and other black eye causing episodes from recent bashes, I would be concerned about recommending one of our Indiana State Parks. Granted, this type of behavior only comes from a certain 1% of the attendees, it is enough to damage some of the relationships that many geocachers have built with these parks. At current I would recommend a private venue, and leave the state parks for the smaller events and CITOs such as the fall and spring picnics and cacher campouts. Granted I have only attended the 06 Geobash, but did not see anything that would have portrayed Geocachers in anything less than a positive light. My family participated in some of the Area 51 festivities. There was absolutely nothing going on there that I was concerned about my kids being around. An average Friday or Saturday night at the Turkey Run or McCormick’s Creek S.P. campgrounds would have seen more “negative activity” IMHO. If you know of something that we don’t, let’s hear it. It would be better to address any problems now rather than later. I see the larger problem of utilizing one of Indiana’s DNR properties being the lack of indoor facilities. We would either be stuck with an outdoor shelter at the low end or having to book the entire Potawatomi Inn at the high end. There is not much in between available (especially that could accommodate 1200 persons) to my knowledge. I think that Ross Camp would be a perfect venue!
  9. I can think of several great places, but indoor facilities are very difficult to come by.
  10. I was beginning to wonder why this thread existed (who would do this?). Now I can relate. "Location: Indiana, United States Mmmmmm Mmmmm found Bbbbbb Bb (Disabled) (Unknown Cache) at x/x/xxxx Log Date: x/x/xxxx Note: This log was Rot13 encrypted on the web site. Because you are the owner we have converted it for you. got scared by locust" This cache has been sitting on the floor of my garage since 7-4-06 while I find a new hiding location. It is disturbing to know that some complete strangers found their way into my garage and found the cache (which is an accomplishment in itself).
  11. I will be happy to take any of mine back.
  12. I remember that one well becuase I believe it was my first ISQ. I was in business attire, walked over the stairway into the cow pasture then dodged cow pies to retrieve the cache. Obviously it was very memorable.
  13. I can think of one of your that legitimately needs it!
  14. If you do not have (multiple) holes in your caching shirt, then you are not caching hard enough . By the end of summer that thing should look like it has been through a shredder.
  15. That is awesome. I think we have a photoshop genius in the house!
  16. OK, I was over in your neck of the woods this past weekend, now you need to come over to mine. Believe it or not there are several confederate graves in Indiana. You might try looking in NW Hendricks and Montgomery counties. Look at Indiana Spirit Quest #282: Confederate Railroad: "In this group are 18 Union vets, 3 of which are from the 28th US Colored Troops, and 6 Confederate vets." If we are ever successful in getting Crown Hill Cemetery in Indy to let us place some caches, you might get to see 1,616 confederate graves that were associated with the POW camp in Indy. I was shocked to see how many confederate graves there are in the north. It looks like many moved north following the war. I love cemetery caches! Of my 88 caches, 82 of them are in cemeteries.
  17. The Indiana Spirit Quest Series can now be found in 52 Indiana Counties. WOW! Is Blackford County radioactive or something? Surely the would have a new sheriff by now ? There is only on geocache in the entire county!
  18. BEWARE! Responses to multiple posts ahead that are not necessarily in the correct order. From the geocoin forum guidelines: “This forum may be used for selling, trading or giving away of geocoins which are trackable on Geocaching.com…Posts made with the intention of soliciting customers to a coin selling, tracking, or manufacturing website will not be tolerated.” I should point out that this discussion takes place in the Midwest Forums and not in the Geocoin forums. Hopefully our moderators will stop by to weigh in on the situation as to what may or may not apply. This is clearly labeled as a brainstorming session and IMHO we are not in violations of any of the guidelines. Currently, there is no 06 Indiana geocoin so we are clearly not selling or promoting this non-existent coin. This is simply a place for the Indiana Geocachers to brainstorm. That is not a bad idea. It may a little difficult to control, but not impossible. Definately worth pondering here. To my knowledge the 05 Indiana geocoin was not sold for profit and was going on the premise that this one would not either. Perhaps we need a clear statement from Team Tecmage on this. Sorry, not familiar with the history of the Walbash . I am assuming that you are referring to the Wabash & Erie Canal concept? I just did some filtering with the waypoints in my GSAK and just found 18 caches reference the Wabash & Erie Canal with the furthest point north being in Ft. Wayne and the furthest south point being in Evansville. Keep in mind that I was only working with the caches that I have in my GSAK right now which happens to be heavy on NE Indiana and very light on the rest of the state. It would be interesting to find out how many caches are located on or directly adjacent to the towpath? I would bet the number is huge. Please to not take this as my endorsement of the Wabash & Erie Canal concept as I was just answering the referenced question. In reality, I could EASILY get behind many of the ideas thrown out here (I especially like Team Neos’ list).
  19. Yeah I saw it and have already logged my first DNF on #8 (not to mention got soaking wet). He is already tormenting us with his Shelter III, now this. I guess I can now feel a little better since the cache was indeed missing. Will try again today (I say that alot with IMM hides).
  20. I really don't care what the rest of the world thinks. We are making this for Indiana, not for the other 500 people that are going to try to make a buck selling them off of ebay. It really burns my rear that we continue to pay an extra $1.5 for each coin that we buy when we all know that most will never be activated. For some reason there is a stigma out there that activated coins are somehow tainted in the trading community. Why bother with the extra cost and trouble if most will never be activated? Lets make something that is nice and affordable for Indiana Geocachers rather than feeding the quickly dying trackable geocoin machine.
  21. While these are indeed state icons, what do they have to do with geocaching?

    Pcc '06!

ohhhhh! Loved the first one. Sound like time to start planning a ROADTRIP!
  23. My heavy/large bugs are: Chain Chomp GeoGnome Anchors "Away"
  24. I thought Huntington Reservoir would be a great location. SixDogTeam could cook hotdogs by day and beer brauts by night all week long. Would you believe there are 60 ACTIVE caches within 5 miles of the site itself. It has easy access off of I-69 and has several miles of trails.
