  11. CoinsandPins.com sells geoslugs pretty cheap which are trackable. They have a hole and a small chain so you can attach them to other items. Check out their website at www.coinsandpins.com
  12. We went on a little cache run today through the Manchester/Tullahoma along with a little trip just south of the Bell Buckle area and it's going to be a great event in a beautiful area with LOTS of caches! We were taking it easy today and found 35 or so and did some campground scouting for some friends in the process! You folks are in for a treat at GW7!
  13. Well, this is just a GUESS, but considering that Geowoodstock is "owned" and "founded" and "invented" by JoeGPS and he lives in the Nashville area, it would make sense. It's nice to see it go back home. After chatting with Billy today I am already psyched for this location. The entire town will be GW7. That's awesome. I'm excited and I haven't spoken with anyone on the phone I just get excited about talking on the phone! Hush AG! LMAO! You should get a shirt with that phrase on it! Now thats a idea!
  14. At this time there are no Limited Editions of this coin planned for sale or trade, only 250 coins will be minted in the gold finish, if there is any interest shown in a LE of this coin and one is made then it will be offered for sale to the people that are on the reservation list already in the order that the reservations came in..... As of yesterday, the order has been sent in for the 250 coin to be minted so the invoices will be sent out soon. All of the coins are NOT reserved as of now so if you would like to get on the reservation list then see earlier post with the details on how to reserve the coins. Thanks again...

  16. Sorry I can't answer that one, That would be a question better addressed to the Official Geowoodstock Committee. I am just trying to help because I live near the area.... Help is ALWAYS appreciated and I wasn't trying to bash you or anything. I am relitively a Newbie as far a attending BIG events and was just curious about this . . . Ok, I didn't take it as a bash. I know several of the folks on the Geowoodstock Committee but to this day I have never understood how the place is picked! I do know that the reason behind Memorial Day Weekend is that it is a 3 day weekend and that gives most folks a extra day for travel or fun which ever that might be depending on who you are...well I think that is the reason...

  18. I don't do the Yahoo thing but I will be around here if anyone has questions about the area. I will do my best to help out since we are just about a hour away from the actual event site. We are going to be doing some scouting runs up in the area to check out motels and campgrounds in the next few days and weeks to come so we can kind of steer folks in the right direction...
  19. The Nashville Airport would be the closest major airport and they should have car rental services there...
  20. Will there be banjos involved? So the night of GWVI I told sillygirl we didn't have to do another mega-event for at least a decade, but now that I look at the map... How far is this event from Atlanta? (We used to live there.) And when we did I thought of Chattanooga as less than 2 hours, & Nashville as a 4-5 hour drive... So that would make Bell Buckle 3.5-4 hours from Hot-lanta, is that about right? Must start planning... jrr We live just north of Chattanooga and have about 300 active caches between just my wife and I in the area with plans on placing at least 250 or so more for GW7. We have also already been in touch with a bunch of our friends from our local club, www.getgc.org and they all want to get out and place caches so look for a BUNCh of new ones between Bell Buckle and Chattanooga. I went to Chatty in 2004 to watch the Griz play in the IAA football Championship. I've never forgotten a place called 'Sticky Fingers'- Come Lick Our Bones Still have my t-shirt. I LOVED the food there and for 1 whole hour between the bar and rest. one half yelled 'Montana' and the other half 'Grizzlies.' so my question is; Does this town hosting GW7 have a Sticky Fingers If so I may consider going to GW7 Sorry, no Sticky Fingers in BellBuckle but we are just a hour down I-24... and we do have several Sticky Fingers resturants!
  21. I don't know anything about the hotel, never stayed in one before, but I was able to reserve 20 rooms at the Scottish Inn for $45.23/night, additional info is on the new yahoo group! http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Geowoodstock7info/ The Scottish Inn is right off the Interstate a block or so down from the Cracker Barrel. We never stayed there due to the fact that they rent alot of rooms by the month to migrant workers and it tends to be a little on the rough side at times.....
  22. Thanks for the good comments! I updated your reservation on the list.
  23. Yep, Born here in Tennessee and lived here all my life... Thanks for the good comments on the design....
  24. These coins are not authorized by any clubs in Tennessee except for Billys club. Heck, "Billy's Club"(?) didn't even authorize these coins...Did it need to??? Oh yea, I was asked if I would offer any kind of a discount on maybe a 5 pack of the coins and I said why sure so here's the deal... If anyone wants 5 or more coins the cost goes down to $5.50 a coin. For the folks already on the list that reserved 5 or more coins, you will be billed the discount price. Thanks! Authorize may be the wrong word, but don't you think the cachers and or clubs of Tennessee should have some input as to the design if it is a Tennessee coin? Yes or No??? Actually I would think that anyone in the state of Tennessee can do a Tennessee Geocoin. I have talked to more than a few folks from our state that like the design and thats good enough for me. You reside in California Jed so you really don't have any idea whats going on here in Tennessee... I live in Tennessee, I work in Tennessee and I cache in Tennessee every day. I also talk to other Tennessee cachers every day in the state of Tennessee and so far you are the only person that has expressed any kind of displeasure about this coin. I am sorry I didn't come to you for your approval of the design but since you now reside in California I didn't think it was that important. If you don't like the coin then don't buy it but I have a list of other folks who seem to like it so let it be. Chuck, I am not going to bicker back and forth with you over something that really doesn't concern you so this will be my last response about this matter. I apoligize to all the other good folks who are here for the fun of collecting coins for letting this go this far. Now back to the fun... If you like the coins and would like to get on the reservation list then please do, if you don't like the coins then that's ok too, either way. Thanks...
