i thought about the 31, but i thought the color display may drain the batteries to much... any thoughts?

They lied... Just kidding-- I spoke with the tech support person and because my unit would not hard reset she said it is a hardware issue. I think what they are getting at it is the hardware issue is preventing the unit from reseting.... But I am just an auditor, what do I know?

I have Nat Geo TOPO! for PA and the Midatlantic and I am happy with it-- I don't have anything else to compare it with though... One downside is changing CDs for various regions-- it can be a bit of a pain...

Status update-- no luck with Palm tech support as it is a hard ware issue. So I am outta luck-- be wary of buying from ebay i guess. I am still in contact with the ebay seller i think she may offer a refund. Here is to hoping. Clint

i was trying to upgrade from the 4.0 operating system to the 4.1... I did find out that if I call the tech support number and they cannt resolve it, there is no fee... so at least I will not be throwing away $25...

The battery is charged; however, I did have a memory card in it-- I will try it with out the memory card tonight. I do not think any of the keys are stuck... The screen is a kind of like a smeared checkerboard of light and dark shades... I am afraid I will pay the $25 to hear a tech say "Your unit is toast" :-(

Hi All-- I was discussing this in the PDA thread, but i wanted it to get some more attention so maybe I might be able to get some help: I bought a Palm M500 from ebay and it can in this week. I was in the middle of upgrading the operating software and the screen went into this jumbled state. I have tried both hard and soft resets, neither working. I tried letting the battery completly die and still no luck... any suggestions? I can call palm tech support but it is a $25 fee. I would do it if I knew it would work, but I do not want to drop and more cash on this this if it is broke in the first place. ANY advice / ideas / help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks! Clint
