  1. Someone is listening. A problem report has been generated. Groundspeak is aware of the problem and will be looking at it. Thank you for your patience.
  2. I am the Groundspeak lackey that handled this appeal. I was going to post the entire story to support Keystones action but after reading the support Keystone is getting I feel there is no need. A big thank you to all that have understood. Our, Groundspeak's and your, reviewers do a lot of work and get really bad pay plus they have to work with me. It's nice to see the support this reviewer is getting from the community. Kind words and a desire to help is all the reviewers get paid. This thread is like a raise for Keystone.
  3. Go with your gut feeling.
  4. If you are losing your wireless connection its something other than a page on the internet. Thats not normally something that is affected by pages on the internet.
  5. reviewers still get a copy of the log. Post needs archived on caches that do not have an owner. Post needs maintenance on the rest.
  6. Only one of the two accounts would be able to use the premium features of the account.
  7. The problem has been fixed. Note: this is different than the ISP issue some of you are experiencing.
  8. I found your email and sent you a response. Sorry for the delay.
  9. It is our job to feed the hamsters and take them for walks.
  10. Please try it again using your home coordinates. You had your home coords listed and also a Seattle zip code so that may have been confusing the system. I removed the zip. Please try it and let me know. Thank you
  11. I have returned the Charter Member Status to the OP. This is a one time reinstatement. The normal time limit between renewals is 2 months. If it lapses again and is not renewed within the two month period there will be no way to reinstate it again. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. Thanks, Michael LaPaglia Community Relations Specialist Groundspeak, Inc. www.geocaching.com
  12. Regarding a no response from Contact@, If your ticket is escalated to the developers the system does not tell you that you were escalated. So you may not get an email reply until it is finished. It's the email system at times like this, not the nice folks answering the first tier of the emails. It is something that is being looked into. If you want to email me your First ticket number I can look at the status for you. Don't bother trying to get status from the information on the ticket that does not work and we are still checking into it. Email me and I will look into it for you. The people that answer the emails sent to contact@ are very nice and good people. They do a great job of getting answers.
  13. This cache has been reviewed by Groundspeak and is within the caching guidelines for the site. The method of hiding the cache is fine and acceptable. There is no need to be concerned. It is not buried by our standards. As far as Groundspeak is concerned it is simply covered. I hope this helps your confusion.
  14. The servers have been restarted. They should settle in soon and this will go away.

  16. Koko, Groundspeak's famous graphics designer and mother of our beloved Signal needs your help. If you have a funny caching story she would like to hear it. Was there a time you fell in the lake trying to get a cache, followed the wrong trail, took apart a sprinkler system only to find the cache in a tree? Please tell us your story. Thank you.
  17. Go to this page and enter the email address you use on geocaching.com. The system will send you your password. NOTE: you MUST use the email address that is on file for you. If you do not you will not get your password. you can also access this page from the link on the log in page on GC.com.
  18. This may provide some answers. We need to invalidate emails that are bouncing because companies like Yahoo, Verizon and AOL will block all of our emails if we don't, because they call this due diligence to ensure we aren't sending lots of bouncing emails to their servers. Make sure that when you log in you use a valid email because that is where the validation letter will go to. You need that email in order to validate your account. Check your spam filters and anything else that may stop the email from coming through. If you never received your validation email please check your account information to be sure the email address listed is correct. You might also check your Spam Filter to make sure our mail is getting through.
  19. But for how long? Not long. I was told by Michael LaPaglia at Groundspeak to remove that reference even though there is no competition with Groundspeak and every other forum I belong to allows this sig line. Of course, there is also the issue that the profile page doesn't tell you that that is the problem ... FWIW, Michael LaPaglia also said that my user name will become disallowed if and when I activate that website. I can't say I'm too thrilled with Groundspeak at this point because, as far as I know, one cannot change a user name, one can only cancel that account and open another. That will lose all my history for me. If Groundspeak is going to have such restrictions on user names, they have an obligation to inform the user at the time of sign-up, not several years later. I am posting this reply to Michael LaPaglia here for everybody's benefit, even though he emailed me privately rather than respond to this forum topic. I also notice, in previewing this post, that my sig line still contains my domain name even though I fixed the "problem". I wrote you in private because It was a private matter and I did not want to do it in public. However since you decided to make it public matter please at least get it accurate. You stated : However what I said was: (bold added by me) There is a big difference between you claiming I said it would be be disallowed if and when you activated the website and my saying "The same goes for your User name if and when your web page is activated, if it is commercial in nature you will have to close the account and use another." Please feel free to quote me but please quote me accurately. It makes a real big difference.
  20. Lol, yeah As in scary? Or atleast Yelling or ranting. I coulda use flippin but I think it sounds worse. Your cache page has been reviewed.
  21. A quick check of your profile shows that you are indeed a premium member. It appears to have been resolved.
  22. There seems to have been a miscommunication. I am sure I was the source of this and I apologize. We, Groundspeak are still doing abandon cache adoptions. Not all abandon caches will be adopted, many will. if you want to adopt an abandon cache you must understand that there is a procedure that must be followed and it is not a quick on. Expect it to take 4-6 weeks. we make every attempt to contact the original owner before we consider adopting a cache. You need to contact your reviewer to start the process. However we do not adopt caches that are already archived. If its archived feel free to place a new one at the same location. I hope this clears things up.
  23. Raine, could you please explain why they should be there for non PMs but not for PMs? Perhaps we should introduce some nag screens for all who are no PMs. "If you want to remove this 20 second timeouts you can become a PM here." Shhhht... search for the irony... I have just spoken with Raine. We have had spam problems before and and this was added to aid in preventing it from happening again.
  24. Any log with an action is not able to be edited. This is untended. It keeps this cache history accurate.
