Ya don't say they get paid! How much should they be paid with credentials like:- How much geocaching have you done? Erm, I went to an event once. How many hides do you have? Erm I borrowed a GPS that I didn't know how to use but, my friend (Jeremy) told me where to put it! So what qualifies you for the job? I'm blonde! How much mud have you waded through? I once got splashed by a passing car. What is a thorn? What a rose has! What is a co-ordinate? Something that is inordinate! Do you deserve the job? I dunno but I like the size of the pay packet! Should an administrator be credible with 1 find(event cache) and, 1 hide? Can they truly be regulators or are they just workers that get paid for censoring geocachers?

Not being from the states I don't want to "stick my nose where it isn't wanted". I saw a program this evening though were the police that were organising a search were concerned that the searchers may not be able to be found if they got lost. Seems to me that if an experienced searcher and GPS user was put in each team then, they would soon find their way back to a waypoint that they set at the start of the search. Using police guidlines on time of return etc? Am I wrong?

Does anyone have views on the subject that maybe we could be a resource when volunteers are needed for searches etc.? Maybe with all the outdoor folks that love geocaching there could be some liason with the emergency services? What do YOU think?

I found out about it while browsing. Just kind of stumbled into it through the wheresgeorge website. I've never looked back. I love to see the out of the way places. I am from England and I'm sure that my countrymen don't see as much of the wonderful backwaters that I do. Just yesterday my wife and I were out caching and we startled some deer! She was so excited that she almost screemed to get my attention. I'm glad that she did because as I turned I saw 8, maybe 9 deer prancing through the forest. Price of this sight - nothing. The memory of this sight - priceless!

I stayed away from the archeological "dig" site sparky because tourists were flooding into the site and causing problems. For those that are making fun or being just plain rude. Enjoy your taunts if it makes up for you being a pitiful human being with a low self esteem and even lower wit!

As far as welches comments are concerned, I simply stick to what I asked in the other topic and that topic is still valid! If it wasn't there would not be any posters posting good suggestions of how the goal concerned can be achieved. If I don't like what oldagd says in one of his posts then I would simply not reply to it. This was a valid question! I have read what the geocaching site says should not be in a cache and have common sense to know what shouldn't be in a cache. I asked for advice from other cachers in case, for example, there was a 6 inch blade in a cache and I removed it for safety reasons. If after that someone said "what are you playing at?", I could show the post to show that I had checked on the rules first. As for the behaviour of oldagd......no comment.

During a recent discussion it was mentioned that we should ensure against dander to children, haldicapped and the old etc. What is classed as a dangerous article is a cache and what should we do if we find one?

Cool. I understand base 31 but, I downloaded some waypoints from geoczaching.com that started with GS! Does the GC and GS prefixes relate to Geo-Cache and Geodetic Survet respectively? Thank you for your very informative reply.
