So after realizing that i hadnt seen a log for my TB in months. It turns out that the owner of the cache picked his cache up for maintenace and then dropped off the face of the world. So after many emails i have resigned that my poor Flip Flop is missing in action

nice. that dirty smack can sting on the way in.

make sure you know what type of container it is. then read the hint and logs. print the page if you can. check accuracy of the container. if you can ALWAYS LOOK FOR A PATh. i did a little cache that only needed crossing a river on a path. when we did a mile hike through pure thorns and posion.

WALMART. they have tapes sprays cloth everything. also any hunting fishing or army navy stores.

So, you did inform the authorities, right? Did it solve an old missing person case? When there is clothing, that does make human bones easier to recognize... well no because they live across a river from a farm, they were overalls and they have cattle and deer near there. it was very likely someone took a swim and then saw a moccasin. and some bones just went down the river.

Some little things. some trash. We almost threw away the cache. it was a key in a old coke can and sprite can. we were about to toss it when it fell out the bottom. when scouting a location for a friends cache. we found a full set of clothes in the creek side and what appeared to be a leg bone and some rib bones and possibly some spine.

Ok ive searched and searched. im trying to find the name of the owner or adopter of a local cemetery. ive checked online records and nothing comes up. can someone help me out with this. i want to place a micro on the edge or a virtual inside of it.
-
If its in a secluded area yes. with almost no muggle traffic. you have to seem inconspicous and if theres someone pulling a can or bucket out of a storm drain you coudl turn out like the idaho guy who they thought was placing a bomb.

Lacrosse Fox replied to earthshaker's topic in General geocaching topics
WEAR ORANGE. IT WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE. i have hunting friends and they will kill anything that moves or breaths. its seems to increase if they use bows. since there less deadly and can retrieve there ammo. so be careful. announce in the area. -
What Kind Of Caches Do You Like?
Lacrosse Fox replied to the butterfly effect's topic in General geocaching topics
Im not a huge fan of the Hike through miles of poison and thorns. i love the small hikes or easier terrain to a really thoughtthrough cache. or easy terrain with extremely hard finds. but i hate hiking through tthe forest for a tiny micro cache that only has a log. -
Theres a cache in my area that uses a fake lightbulb attached to a tree that is lowered from a fake electrical box at the trunk. its very ingeniuos.
-
Well ive had another idea. this one. but if it doesnt seem like a good placement i might place a virtual and have it be that cachers have to find a bible verse on the grave.

Too Tall Cache . . . Up There!
Lacrosse Fox replied to GRANPA ALEX's topic in General geocaching topics
You have to find a way to get to it. i found one that was placed in a lightbulb up a lightpost. you had to open the electrical box on the bottom and reeled it down. -
Portrait Of A Geocacher
Lacrosse Fox replied to FlyfishermanMike's topic in General geocaching topics
In my area the average geocacher is a buisnesman. but undoubtedly our best cacher is ThePadre. he is a priest at his masons lodge and has 5000 plus caches i believe. But i also have never met any other cachers except for the ones who introduced me to geocaching. -
1) To find out about permission, visit your town clerk. If they don;t know who the property manager is, the town tax records might help. 2) Try not to place it *IN* the cemetary. There are lots of reasons why, from mistaken ID (vandals) to some who are offended at 'disrespecting the dead'. Use some information on the headstones to come up with the final coordinates, like a puzzle. One I found had you go just outside the cemetary to a wooded area to find the cache. Good compromise. i would love to do that. only problem is that this is in a surburban area. on a residential corner. i just want it to be a park and grab and to look at the local family who helped build this area.
