  1. Ever since the new logging format has been implemented, I have been unable to access my full trackable inventory when logging a cache from my desktop. When I click the "Trackable inventory" dropdown menu and then click "Show all", it brings up 1000 trackables, but I have 1982 in my inventory. No matter how many times I click on "Show all" it will not bring up the rest of my inventory as it did with the previous logging format (it used to pull up 1000 on the first click, and then the rest with a second click). So, if I want to visit or drop any of the 982 trackables that aren't shown, I don't think I have any way to do that. Any ideas for a fix on this?
  2. What is the etiquette for retrieving a trackable from a cache that you've already logged? There are many caches near my home and office locations that are popular for placing trackables. I assume the trackable item's owners would like it to move along as quickly as possible. Is it considered acceptable to retrieve the trackables from the cache without logging a find or posting a note on the cache? Obviously I will log the trackable and continue it towards its goal ASAP, which would remove it from the inventory on the cache page. To me, it seems like it should be fine as I would be accomplishing two things - adding a new trackable to my stats and helping it towards it's goal quickly. Thanks for any guidance, just want to make sure I'm not breaching any etiquette with the game!
  3. I am fairly new to the sport and my wife enjoys it as well. She would like to take trackables from caches and we understand the need to move them quickly. We don't frequently get to cache together (once every few weeks), and I'm wondering what the protocol would be for me to move along the trackables she's taken, since we have separate accounts. I will probably be able to visit 25 caches to each 1 that she logs. For example, if she takes a coin from a cache and would not be able to move it for a month but I have the opportunity to place it within a couple of days, should I? How would I/we log this sort of thing? I am fortunate to be able to cache while on the job and it takes me all over our region, while she will likely only be caching within an hour or so of our home. I don't want to break the etiquette or protocols - Thanks for any tips!
  4. To answer your question RE:iphone use while Geocaching, in my opinion the Groundspeak-developed app works very, very well. I am new to the sport as well, and have purchased a Garmin 60CSx for my wife and a DeLorme PN-40 for myself to use in areas with no cell coverage, but the iPhone app works so well in so many places that I have yet to learn to use the 'real' GPSs. I have found around 75 caches in the past couple of months using the iPhone app. It costs $10 in the App Store. I find that the greatest feature of the app is its ability to locate nearby caches on the go, wherever you are. I travel all over Colorado on a daily basis for work, and it's so simple to pull up the app and have instant access to the 10 closest caches (usually all within a mile or so) and navigate from there. No pre-research required online. My only complaint is the accuracy of the GPS in the iPhone. It is usually good to get you within 100 feet of the cache, but you'll have to use your geo-sense to narrow it down from there. It hasn't been a problem for me. Occasionally the iPhone GPS accuracy will get to 30 feet, but more commonly I find it at 56 or 156 feet. Hope this helps.
