That on is near me. I plan on going there once the weather gets better.

Jeremy,
Thanks for the response. So what you are saying is that this is a default part of the program that you use to run the forums but the IM feature isn't enabled?

I don't see how it make sit any easier to find the cache. You're still going to have to find the parking lot with coords.
Of the 2 caches I've done I had to park illegally because I couldn't find a spot to park nearby. And because it was crappy out I didn't want to spend 30 minutes looking for one.
Turns out when I got to the cache there was a spot nearby to park but it couldn't be easily seen from the road and would only be known if you;re familiar with the area.
Encrypt them, put em on another webpage, or have them available thru email, any way I'm for have coords. available.

Right, so how would Groundspeak know where to send the IM?
I don't recall giving them any of my IM info and I don't see a place tp add it.
And if it is an on site IM I haven't received those either. Is this perhaps a new feature that hasn't been fully implemented?

I just upgraded. Found this site a long time ago but didn't have a GPS.
I was set up to get emails with site news, etc. Just recently got a GPS more for Wardriving the for this but I think I'll end up using it more for Geocaching. Just waiting for the weather to clear!!

I just became a charter member and I selected "notification by IM " as one of my options to be notified of a new post.
My question is: Where do I get the IM? Is it somewhere on this site or was I supposed to put my IM program and name in somewhere?

Yikes, sounds like someone might have some "woman" issues. Hopefully, they stop at Barbie dolls!

Works ok for me on my Dell Axim w/Linksys WCF12. I only get about 20 caches when doing a zip code search.
The screen does load correctly initailly.

Heck, if I could SCUBA I'd do it. I love these "different" types of caches even if I can only read about them!!

Even though I've only found 2 caches I like this site so much that I paid for charter membership yesterday!!

That's already there. Have you never noticed the _Hop To_ with the drop-down box and the _GO_ button?

There are lots of good ideas here for a set of guidelines. I don't see why that would be so hard to make.
Obviously, from the reactions here, there are alot of people who love this sport and take how its handled very seriously.
While we may not agree on everything surely we could agree on a basic set of cache guidelines.

I have yet to see a container too small for a logbook. You just have to be creative:

What is that thing?

Funny, just as a learn of new ways to make cahces, they get shot down.

I like the idea of a code, password, etc.

I thinking getting to the cache after the last guy/girl put something really cool in is more important!

It would be nice if we could get all of these types of helpfile files all posted in one easy to find place, perhaps in a FAQ.

I have a feeling that all this white powder lying around could cause problems.
