  1. I have used GSAK for several months no problem...it solves my problem by storing caches in my laptop that I can use the info as needed when i am in the bush and have no internet access...I know lots use I phones etc etc, but i dont want to incur the expense etc etc..My problem is new, but when I download from Geocaching .com the GPX to the Gsak..it locks up my computer totally...I mean even Control Alt Delete wont work. have to unplug and start up again..I have deleted the GSAK completely and reinstalled it.Twice in fact.. I had the computer in to the shop and tuned up etc.....and for what its worth I paid the $20 to GSAK and I am a Premium GC member...(the GSAK works great on my desktop computer) , just on this laptop it doesn't.....remember it was working great, just started jamming last week..?? HELP thanx Bob....aka graybeard49

  8. My first question on the forums, I'm sure it has an obvious answer, but when I download a pocket query to GSAK , all I get is the LOC info...I am a premiumm GC member and have paid my GSAK fees and have a serial number etc..I think I have read most of the stuff and it says to make sure when you download to have the GPX ......blah blah blah... anyway it does not work and I would like to fiqure it out before this coming month end... I am medium computer savy and pretty literate but obviously am missing something...need a hand...thanx Graybeard from Vancouver Island, Canada
  9. Done, I surprised how many oldies there are. ( Me being one of them)
  10. Definately print off a few copies of the Geocaching brochure found on the Geocacher-U.com site. Makes it super easy to explain to a non geocacher. We travel across border often and have maps , coordinates etc of areas . No problem, at least for us anyhow.
  11. Lurking is not a "criminal activity" last time I checked. I am a classic lurker, I enjoy reading the forums and seldom ever comment. I don't like it when the bashing starts, no need to, this is an free activity that started out with one rule," have fun and find it". Geocaching gets you outside doing a bit of ( or a lot of) excersise and a bit of brain work. Keep it fun , keep the politics out of it.
  12. Great idea, I printed off some of the cards and the brochure,... Just need this snow to go away, so we can get out of our driveway without SKI's
