  1. I do puzzle caches occassionally. I have to admit I sympathize with the cache creators that have had the solutions posted somewhere without their knowledge. Given the hard work that goes into creating good puzzle caches I wouldn't want that sabotaged. Still I know that there are some cache owners who are not helpful and have gone to great lengths to make their puzzle caches as diabolical and frustrating as possible. I would be sorely tempted to peak at the hints or solutions for these types. my $.02
  2. For me, the most interesting count was the comparison of paper log and the online log. I had the chance to do this with a cache I recently adopted and the numbers were very interesting. There were almost 40 more finders in the paper log versus online, so the total number of finds was over 200 versus the 160 or so online. I'm going to try this with my other caches just for grins.
  3. Wow, thanks Koz and everyone for the congrats. Hopefully I can break 500 in less time. No more lurking on the forums for me!
  4. I'm headed to Florida this weekend for a semi-regular visit to the Crystal River area. I've done a few caches in Tampa and Citrus County. I've got a week to cache. Can anyone recommend some "must do" caches in the area from Crystal River south to Tampa. Thanks!
  5. I've been thinking about placing a cigar-themed cache in the No. Virgina area for a while now. I want the cache to be more adult-oriented with trade items being cigar-related, such as actual cigars, cutters, cigar bands, etc. I've talked to some caching friends and got some negative feedback about it, particularly the potential for items that aren't "kid-friendly" and that some cachers don't like smoking. Is a clear description with warnings on the cache page enough? What about making it members-only? Should caches like this not even be posted geocaching.com?
  6. I'm headed to Williamsport, MD for the annual BROOD (Basset Hound Rescue of the Old Dominion) meeting this weekend. Bassets are my other passion, other than geocaching. I rarely make it to this part of Maryland, any recommendations on dog-friendly, interesting caches near Williamsport? Thanks
  7. Another batch of intrepid cachers are trying to start a new team to tackle B&G. If you're interested check out the the yahoo group, bandgconquest. Yahoo BandGconquest group
