  1. And whom did you pay these 6p per cache to? The people who hid them for your pleasure to find?
  2. Ah, so you hate cheaters? I totally understand you but it seems that it is you who ended up in the wrong place, not the cheater. Groundspeak's game is stimulating cheating and is very welcoming to it. You have only two options: leave or accept the cheaters (eventually, becoming one of them).
  3. And I was interested who, in your opinion, deserves this money. Sorry for bothering you.
  4. To whom? To the people who hid the caches for you to find?
  5. https://coord.info/GC7T5NH See https://coord.info/GLXNZNG8 for proof of my statement.
  6. Wow. So you are equating IP-address tracking (and I may be using TOR, you know) with real-world (position+time) tracking? So you are equating my nickname with my real identity? One of the AR geocaches I did insisted I make a selfie before giving me the final coordinates. A smiling selfie. Any picture just didn't do it. So, presumably, my picture goes to a server somewhere to be analyzed (if I am happy enough) and stored with precise location, time, phone number and what-not and this is the same as me being known here as BillyGee? And about the permissions Metaverse requires... Here they are: This app has access to: Identity find accounts on the device read your own contact card Contacts find accounts on the device read your contacts Location approximate location (network-based) precise location (GPS and network-based) Phone read phone status and identity Photos / Media / Files read the contents of your USB storage modify or delete the contents of your USB storage Storage read the contents of your USB storage modify or delete the contents of your USB storage Camera take pictures and videos Microphone record audio Wi-Fi connection information view Wi-Fi connections Device ID & call information read phone status and identity Other receive data from Internet view network connections full network access control vibration prevent device from sleeping install shortcuts Is there anything that it doesn't require?
  7. Yes, just like the Wherigo tools did. IMHO, the AR geocaches are not just glorified Wherigos, they are much worse. They require Internet connection and they can (and probably do, even if not by the CO himself) track you.
  8. At the very least you can stop paying them and working for them for free.
  9. Euro coins are extremely rare and of great interest to pretty much everybody!
  10. A lot, and most probably deserved. The cache seems to have been dug in.
  11. You remove archived caches? Rascals! Why don't you do like these fine cachers: a throwdown for a cache archived two years prior.
  12. Just don't do it. You will throw in a lot of money, time and effort; somebody will complain about something; Groundspeak will promptly archive it.
  13. The punctuation is strong with this one.
  14. But that was the fix. His previous version of the same geocache was a parasitic box that the finders were supposed to unmount from a real electrical box on the other side of the station. Something like GC6CN64 but without the permission. And with real electrical current nearby.
  15. That's how the owner intends it to be. See the inscription at the top in red? This _is_ his last maintenance.
  16. The app I use is very expensive but at least it has this option.
  17. Most probably not. But notice how nobody had complained. Electrical stations are OK to vandalize. Women's underwear - well, you know.
  18. See GC4D6AQ. The description has never been edited after publication. See GC6HCH7. This is an electrical station, though, not a sign. I won't even bother to give you examples... They are numerous, all over the world. The wheelchair attribute is mandatory. Wheelchair access is not. Only for an honest CO.
  19. Stop humiliating yourself... On the other hand, thanks to the good old^H^H^H new GDPR, you can always remove the whole thread.
  20. Monopolistic arrogance is more likely. But keep dreaming and trampling on your dignity. :-)
  21. Welcome to the club. But as I have been told in a similar situation by the very participants of this forum - it is their website, their rules, their game. But no offence taken, right? You will continue to work for them for no money, regardless of their "gratitude".
  22. Could be worse: https://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=dd1f9d46-d9b9-4989-81b3-a66b3376c714 Notice: ------- random wiki text I guess this smart a** is aiming at lowering down his log similarity score on Project-GC.
  23. Nope. It is abandoned property. You don't own it any more. Finders-keepers. Unless you happen to find and keep it, it is not yours. Ask any muggle if you don't believe me. On the other hand, only Groundspeak profits from your cache. So it is effectively theirs until it gets destroyed by a muggle. Whenever somebody at Groundspeak decides that your cache breaks some stupid guideline or that your eyes are the wrong color or whatever, your cache is gone. Like, disappeared. The work you did for them with good intentions, the money you spent - thrown at the junk-heap. If they don't want to profit from "your" cache any more it will effectively disappear.
