  1. Just to touch on one point. You don't have to have the published coords of your Wherigo be the beginning of the cartridge. Generally, it's done that way, though there is no requirement. You could have 60 Wherigo icons drawing out a giant Yin-Yang symbol, and have all 60 of them start in the same spot, at the center of the image, so long as the finals comply with the 528' rule. True, but it makes it easier for the user to figure it out...
  2. Looking for an opinion here - or perhaps someone who has tried this and had success or failure. I'm looking to make a small piece of geo-art with Wherigos, and noted that that the rules explicitly state that "Cache saturation applies only to physical containers and not virtual elements like those that make up a Wherigo cartridge." So, does that mean that the starting points can be less than 528' since they are virtual? I am looking to place several Wherigos on a large field in a park, and since you have to show up at the coordinates to trigger the Wherigo, it cannot be in a body of water. Is this within the rules? Of course, the finals will abide by saturation and the 1-2 mile distance rule.
  3. On my main computer, a laptop, I am getting nothing but "Server Error in '/' Application." error page when trying to got to www.Wherigo.com. I have tried IE, Firefox and Chrome. On my Droid, it shows up just fine, but downloading carts is problematic on these devices. Anyone else seeing this? Very strange...
  4. Same here - All of my available PQ's are giving the server 500 error, including one that returns 65 caches ( http://www.geocaching.com/pocket/downloadp...4f-9c9e7d26a3fa )
  5. I had that same issue with displaying an item on the 500 - Like you, I just learned to avoid that sort of thing...
  6. Yes - In the software biz we call it "Regression Testing". As to Waymarking, it would be a lot more popular if it was part of caching again...
  7. I figured it out. You have to set the target to "None". It appears as if setting it to a specific item will not allow the event to fire. Or something like that... Anyone else have any input on this?
  8. OK, I've got most of this figured out, but I can't seem to get a command that is attached to an object to do anything when clicked. In the old builder, events showed up in the item that it was attached to, like if you had a command "Talk" attached to character "Gorilla", you would see event "When Talk Occurs". In URWIGO, I don't see anything like that. I have put code in the Enabled event of the command, but it does not seem to fire. What am I missing here?
  9. I have a tree cache. It has Tree in the name. It says that you have to climb a tree to get it. It even has a "4" diff rating due to having to climb up 25 feet or so. The only possible excuse that I could see for not having to delete such a log would be an un-signable log. Even then, most people would take a picture, drop a token, post a "Needs Maintenance", or something. But, "I saw it, therefore I found it?" No way, dude. Your log is outta there. If you want to leave a note, fine, but don't take credit for a find with no log signed.
  10. My thought would be what would happen when LEO discovered it after little Billy saw it in the woods... Sounds like a solid plan for a visit from the nice county EOD people and their big shiny truck.
  11. I don't like caches in or near playgrounds - mostly because I don't want to spend a lot of time explaining myself to the authorities and/or parents about why I'm hanging around in playgrounds... Color me YES so that I can filter them out. About NYC - I have no problem with that. There are plenty of public areas in a park that are not related to playground equipment for minors that adults can enjoy. I'm sure that the city council felt that child safety was a valid enough concern that a slight restriction of access was needed. Frankly, adults with no kids have no business being in a playground with children present in ANY city/town, and New York just happens to be the biggest one we have. This is an era in which kids are a a lot less safe than they were 20-30-40 years ago in public areas. That said, the restrictions should not encompass an entire park.
