  1. Hey look! You got on a cover and I didn't even have to do anything.. lol Alright... but you don't know what you're missing out on!
  2. Hi, Thanks, like the container shot. I think I've already published your other photo?? Or at least very similar.. Cheers
  3. Cool photo. Thanks, where about was it taken? I actually never seen the snow / ice where I live..
  4. Hi, good question? If you have an interesting photo and you go caching - submit it but these one's are NOT for cover shots, see link above if you want to submit a photo for possible selection to go on the cover.. Thanks
  5. Thanks for the post, Will include these photo's in the issue. Much appreciated.
  6. Ha ha... yes I am, thank you. The link you put up is for photo's that might get onto our cover, this forum in for all photo's that will go into a photo feature section inside the magazine.. cheers
  7. Well done. Thanks for the post. I remember finding my first one of those..
  8. Here's July's Magazine as it went to print with "Farrtom" cover shot. Thanks!
  9. Hi all, We're running a photo feature of people's geo-photo's in my geocaching magazine. So if you have one, and wish to share, please do. Thanks
  10. I personally keep my old logs... even the damaged ones. But I only replace them with fresh clean logs and usually make a note on the cache listing that the log has been replaced. Cheers
  11. Depends where you go geocaching.. I have one and it's brilliant and much more accurate and sensitive than my iphone4 and android, but the phones are great for most applications and 80% of my caching is now found just via the smartphone. I use the GPS for hunting in the woods or when I need better battery life (hiking & camping overnight), as I get about 18 hours from 2AA in the GPS. Hope that helps.
  12. It's even stranger they're a premium member and own so many trackables of their own.. and nearly all haven't moved! Sad
  13. I nearly always post a photo of TB's for the owner, usually in a way I hope they enjoy. I get enjoyment out of seeing photo's for my TB's.. Yes not many do it.. but I really appreciate the one's that do and I normally make the effort to email them to say Thanks.
  14. No I've never previously heard of them. But yes I'd be happy to move any item along if that's it mission.. and obviously log it, discover it etc.. Sounds interesting..
  15. I use NiMH batteries and although more expensive, I picked up 8 with chargers for about $40 and they've lasted well in my devices including GPS and sometime video game controllers etc.. and can be easily topped up via a cig lighter adapter really cheap on the go.. good luck
  16. I like the basic idea. I'm not sure how many premium caches are in our area and if they are big enough to fit a TB.. but i understand it's frustrating. I use a TB Safe house program via my magazine subscribers that we trade TB's directly, travel around with them for awhile, then move them on to the next subscriber.. it protects some of our bugs.. but i also release one's into the wild.. Cheers
  17. Sure, my very first find with my daughter. The shop owner obviously had seen a few geocachers that go over to the spot near the wall looking around... came out and said "You need something to stand on to see it.. not sure what it is but lots of people go over there!" Gave us a smile and a laugh.. although we thought we were masters of stealth! They could obviously see us easily through the shop window
  18. Did you keep the co-ords we could look it up and see if it's a premium only..
  19. Hi, One of our subscribers put this together as perhaps a guide, you're welcome to write as you wish but you may find this helpful. Team Name: Actual Name(s): Member since: Number of Caches Found? Favourite Cache(s): Favourite Milestone Cache(s): Do you plan your Milestone finds to be a particular cache? When do you expect to reach your next Milestone? Favourite cache hider: Most caches in one day: Have you gone caching and found none for the day? Funniest Cache Moment: Best Memories while caching: How many Caches have you hidden? Any Caching Holidays? Favourite Caching Destination: Any random Geo-thoughts you'd like to add? Thanks James
  20. Hi, I closely follow http://www.geotalkpodcast.com/ as it has local Australian content with world news as well. Cheers
  21. Hi, Welcome. Glad to have another geocacher on board. Good to hear you have enjoyed yourself. Even a couple of hides already! Although those peaceful places might not be so peaceful anymore.. there'll be cachers checking them out... Good luck with your other finds.. Cheers
  22. Good luck. Hope you achieve your goal. Sounds like a cool milestone plan. Would certainly be interested in hearing your progress as you get closer. Thanks.
  23. I thought you'd made a typo.. but you didn't. WOW... 16000 congratulations.. and even 200 hides.. well done. I'd like to put some of your favourites in my milestones feature in my magazine if you'd like to send some pictures etc.. either way, appreciate the post. Thanks.
  24. Thank you. Will do. Sure, go ahead.
  25. Now that's interesting. I don't remember what my first DNF was, but we found one the last week that was one that we'd looked for almost every time we went past and almost gave up again and then we got it.. it was certainly a DNF type milestone feeling.. getting one off the list we'd thought we're never going to find. Thanks for the post.
