Package Received: 12/15/11 I received a nice package from Broiler-Todd it had a Christmas Stocking containing 3 geocoins(an 11-11-11 from Idaho, A World Diabetes day coin and a non trackable holiday 3 Muskateers? coin) as well as 2 boxes of votive candles (Pine and berry) and a matchstick cache container with a bison tube tucked inside. Thank you Broiler-Todd. I am sooo happy there weren't any candy temptations inside!

  6. You could always mark it Missing or move it to some long archived geocache. Now that you cannot move coins to you collection if they have miles on them, I just put them in one of my events until I need to move them again to keep my list clean.
  7. One of mine I ordered plain and took to Things Remembered to get it engraved. That was the expensive way about it. One of the vendors offers engraving when you order it -- Look for them, it is quite reasonable and it is a nice job, and no extra effort for you. Actually there are 2 vendors that will do the engraving for you and it is much more reasonable than going to "Things Remembered " (I too have made that expensive mistake) one vendor is in the United States and the other is in Germany I believe.
  8. Since they know their own caching name (and they may change it) I generally put the GC code of the milestone cache and the date it was found.
  9. You are correct but stop and think. It is already tempting for some cachers to steal a coin. Coming across a coin that has been marked missing just makes it all the more tempting to keep it. I mean hey, it is already technically missing, right? I have thought about that. That is why if a coin is still listed in a cacher's hands, I won't send it to Missing, even if I haven't heard of it for months and I have emailed the cacher and didn't hear back. Either they will find it in the bottom of their bag and eventually send it out again; maybe they will get it mixed up with their other coins, maybe show it to someone and be reminded of it; or it really is lost. But unless they actually contact me and ask me to do something about it, I'll leave it stuck in their inventory. If it is listed in a cache, I will send it to the great Unknown, but only after it has been reported missing in the cache by the owner, by multiple visitors, or by someone actually logging a note on the page. Otherwise, I just hope it's underground travels will eventually be revealed and resolved. Hope springs eternal I haven't actually re-used my numbers that have truly gone missing, but I do have plans to do that. I just haven't fabricated a good enough replacement yet. I want them to still have the flavor of the original and to be worthwhile, and to be recognizable as a trackable item. I fear reusing my trackables numbers, what happens if in 2 years it suddenly shows up again? This has happened a few times recently both locally and listed in this forum.
  10. I received packages from Maine Family and Toojin today! Lovely coins cannot wait to put these in the door prize drawing!
  11. This shall be my only attempt as I do not have a lot of funny pics, I can say I shot this one myself and wish it had been video because the dog is growling and it sounds like he is saying "grandma" edited to insert image.....duh I am so dumb sometimes!
  12. I move all geocoins I find, I prefer to find them over trackable tags...I guess I am an Icon collector of sorts. Recently (this past July) welch and I were in Wisconsin visiting relatives and geocaching. We picked up about a dozen trackables, of that only 4 were actually logged into their caches, the others we from 40 miles to 438 miles moved with no logging. I am sure the owners were worried about at least a few of them. I have vowed in my geocaching to always take the time to properly log a geocoin even if it means I am grabbing it from a cache I have never been to and dropping it in real cache I found it in before logging it out and moving it again. I have started drilling the coins that I send traveling, they seem to stay out of someones collection a little longer. With the Medicine Wheel coins (yes I released some) I removed the feathers, one of them never made it out of it's original cache. I make it a point to tell my coins good bye before I send them out as I never expect to see them again...so far I have been right.
  13. The event for SuperGoober is GC34ZKZ on November 19th! He is the second ever recipient of Geocaching.com's Geocacher of the Month! Also the very first one in the United States! We are having a celebration of this prestigious award!! Let's Help Him Celebrate!!!!
  14. Looks like your e place listings are going a bit better than listing here. Hope things start looking up for you!
  15. Thank you to those who have said "YES" so far! The date of the event is getting nailed down, the listing is written just need to "nail down" the finals. If by chance I get more donations than we need for the first event then I will spill the excess donations over into my December Birthday and Holiday Bash, December 10th. That events GC# is GC343E3. Or you may donate and designate which event you wish to donate too.
  16. Joe, email me your address, I have a coin to donate that will look very familiar to you. P.S. Looking forward to meeting you at MOGA 2012!!!
  17. We are having an event (not posted yet, will update when it is) to "roast" Geocaching.com's Geocacher of the Month of September, Super Goober! Unfortunately most of the coin companies are not doing coin donations this year Would anyone be willing/ able to donate a coin for our door prizes? I am already donating 2 myself........ Thank you, CCWashburn
  18. If for any reason I need to hold them longer than 3 weeks, I contact the owner and let them know why and that their coin is indeed safe. If the reason helps the coin on its mission most owners are nice about the extended length of time it will be held....Unless it is in a race then it is a totally different story......
  19. Email Oakcoins and tell them the of the coin you found and that it was never activated, let them know that the activation code had previously been retrieved and you do not have it. Did you try the "get activation code" on the Geocaching.com site?
  20. Actually I only know my dad's side is Denmark where for sure i am not sure. My mom's side was from the Alsace-Lorraine section(I am sure I messed up that spelling). On my father's side I also carry Menominee Indian which is why I like to design Native American things (My Medicine Wheel)
  21. Yes, I think that is a good way to describe Fuchsia. If all goes right for our honeymoon (the immediate one) we are planning on going to the 3 oldest caches still in existence in the United States. Then later, once we get the money saved up we will go to Alaska. No overseas plans, if we did I would have to be Germany or Denmark because my ancestors are from there.
  22. Gatoulis, as soon as I get these I will contact you for your address, if I ask for it now, I will lose it before I need it.
  23. I think I titled it the CC & Welch Wedding Coin. When we sign logs I go by CC and that is what all my geofriends call me in person. Ok there you go, Gatoulis has it. This is a sample of the coin as I have not gotten them from the mint yet.
  24. It is limited to 100 coins all of which are coming here to us. It will have it's own icon but not to start with, we have to come up with that money later. It does not have a chain, just a hole. It is going to be in a regular coin flip.
  25. Rot 13 is not straight, Gatoulis you are correct on where the mini interlocked hearts are and the colors for where our names are so: The mini interlocking hearts are separating the Rot13 words and separating our caching names from the rot 13 our caching names and the rot13 are in dark blue our real names and wedding date are in fuchsia The glitter outline interlocking hearts are in pearl Our caching names are curved along the bottom Can you put together the rest of the coin layout? We are getting close enough that I think I need to take a picture of the sample so I have it to post. Oh yeah I forgot to add there is also a hole in the coin.
