  1. I don't have any line on my pictures taken in low light mode.
  2. Garmin Montana Wiki I've started some of the editing. Join the fun and give a helping hand.
  3. It charges off of USB and in the automotive mount. In case anyone is curious, I did find the webpage for the battery. http://www.samsungsdi.com/battery/prismatic-ICP103450.jsp
  4. Got this from the bottom of the geocaching.com/live webpage.
  5. Try basecamp instead. The newer Garmin units weren't designed to interface with Mapsource.
  6. Anyone else's Montana ask to go into mass storage mode when they mount it in the Automotive mount?
  7. I would go with the 76CSx coordinates. They are going to be more accurate than a phone GPSr.
  8. It's possible it will reset under a hard reset. The only resets I found reset everything on me and the odometer still had the mileage set.
  9. Can't reset the odometer on a Montana 650.
  10. Where? Also - I saw that EMS has raised their base price (before tax/shipping) to $499. Guess we wiped 'em out once, and they figure they were leaving money on the table. It's not on sale anymore. That is the regular price before the 15% off they were offering.
  11. Well if it makes you feel any better, it will be worth the wait.
  12. 1. michaelnel - Paid - Shipped 2. yogazoo - Paid - Shipped 3. cacheoholic - Paid - Shipped 4. Gob-ler - Paid - Shipped 5. Zork V - Paid - Shipped 6. Redwoods Mtn Biker - Paid - Shipped 7. BHP1 - Paid - Shipped All shields are shipped out.
  13. On fast drawing the map seems to update about five times per second while driving. I believe its just to give a more uniform flow to the map. I know all the new style GM factory nav units move like its a movie playing on the screen. I believe this is what Garmin is trying to achieve.
  14. 1. michaelnel - Paid - Shipped 2. yogazoo - Paid - Shipped 3. cacheoholic - Paid - Shipped 4. Gob-ler - Paid - Shipped 5. Zork V - Paid 6. Redwoods Mtn Biker - Paid 7. BHP1 - Paid One left, get while you can. All gone!
  15. Here's a screenshot of where that cache gets clipped. If anyone has a free character counter I could tell you exactly what the cutoff is. It's not shown in the picture but any hyperlinks show up as blue text in the description. One really nice feature is the scroll arrows at the bottom of the screen. No more dragging my finger across the screen to read a longer description. Edit: I remembered Microsoft Word counts letters and words. I opened the GPX file and copied what displayed on the Montana to a new file and checked the word count. It was a little higher than 8192 but that could be because I selected more text that was displayed. There was a lot of formatting in that GPX. Cut down on that and you could display a lot more of that cache listing.
  16. I can't believe until tonight I hadn't looked at a geocache on my Montana. It's amazing how nice the text looks. The screen responds as well as my iPhone and it works gloved which the iPhone won't do. I just still can't believe how great a unit this is. It makes my Oregon 550 look like my old eTrex Legend.
  17. Almost forgot, startup time from the time I press the power button till when I can select something on screen is 18 seconds. The Montana also acquires satellites inside where my Oregon 550 and the 62s I had for a while wouldn't.
  18. I haven't used mine for caching yet so I can't give any insight on the accuracy. It does have chirp capability. I can't see Garmin putting out a geocaching capable unit now that isn't chirp compatible. I'll get some screen shots shortly. These are stock geocaching dashboard and compass.
  19. For the people that have sent me money. I need screen names and addresses to make sure these get sent to the correct people. So far I've got money and no where to send the product!
  20. Ok, here they are. I have seven (7) total hand cut Zagg Invisible Shields. I left these slightly large as to help hide the slight irregularity of cutting by hand. There is a small lip that they can tuck under on the Montana if needed so they completely cover the screen. If you've had Zagg supplied shields before you know they usually have a little lip where they don't fully go to the edge. I'm asking $5 to cover my costs on these. PM me for paypal address. These will be sold on first come first serve basis. 1. michaelnel - Paid 2. yogazoo - Paid 3. cacheoholic - Paid 4. Gob-ler - Paid 5. Zork V 6. 7.
  21. I don't notice anything out of the ordinary with my auto mount. It holds everything nice and firmly. On a side note, would anyone be interested in a Zagg shield for $5 shipped? I was looking at cellphone shields that I could cut but they're $20. For $10 more, I picked up an original iPad shield that I can get 8 shields cut from. I can't provide a warranty like Zagg but it's a lot cheaper.
  22. Trying to zoom out enough to get just the US, there's around 6700. I know a handful of them in my area are direct copies from here.
