  1. I saw this thread and thought the pots would be a good side trip for us while bird watching around the Salton Sea. They are amazing but even more amazing was the fact that while we were there a geocacher came up to me and asked me to log their vehicle TB. He saw my GC sticker on the Jeep and I showed him that I had a TB too. I thought this would be a coincidence but asked if he was the person who had started this thread and indeed it was Prescott Patrol!! It was very nice to meet you PP, hope you enjoyed the rest of your w/e! Jane
  2. If you are halfway through a series that has changed you could email the CO and tell them your new difficulty. They may change the cache long enough for you to log it.
  3. I can multi-task! Happy Thanksgiving to you all!! Jane
  4. Congratulations!! Love that RRS got a Jeep just to cache!! Don't tell Mr SH but that's why we got one too!!

  7. Way to go Linda 7,000 now that is a bunch. AWESOME Linda...we know you're having fun! WoooooHoooooooooo!!!! And you didn't even say anything at the event. Congrats! Congrats on 7,000, Linda!!! How is it that I'm always out of town for the celebratory caches??? Congratulations Linda!!
  8. Are they splitting them down the middle? 7500 each? Congrats! Still having fun with each cache find! Congrats, you two!! Either way that's a great milestone! Congratulations jahoadi and john!!
  9. I have to back this up. The reviewer did not say I couldn't have the cache there, just that it was to stay disabled until permission was proven or sought. It was myself and the original cache owner that decided it was best for the cache to get archived. But the point of myself making this thread wasn't about caches being on SSSI's it just so happens that my experience involved this. It also is not about whether your cache should be re-reviewed when you change the co-ords, in fact I can see the sense in this. I was just highlighting something that I wasn't aware happened when you changed your co-ords. Which I think others might not have either? I was however, aware that if you done lots of corrections the system highlighted this to the reviewer, but not just one change of co-ords that are within the parameters of the 0.1 mile rule. Why didn't you try to get permission now? Seems a shame to lose an old cache.
  10. We can't make the event, sadly, but a couple of w/e ago we did the Skyline Drive on the south side of the lake and found really beautiful and scenic and an easy drive for new jeepers like us. Even saw a couple of 2wd cars along the way. This is Skyline cache one cache along the route. Jane
  11. Sadly I will not be able to attend the Big Bear Event as I will be out of town that weekend! Seems I'm missing all the 4x4 events now I've got a jeep!! Please keep posting the off roadin' trips I'm sure I'll be able to come one day!! Jane

  18. I found Lake Loot in August 2001! It was the second ever I found! The first was Lake Loot II but that has been wiped from the database! I was with the Thirsty Ladies when they found it just recently! The lake looks Just as beautiful now as it did back then!l
  19. It's great fun caching in the desert if you are well prepared. I'll leave more expert cachers to advise you on that I'd just like to say have a great time. I'm watching this event which is the start of a huge trail of caches being posted!! http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...37c60&log=y Jane English but living in San Diego
  20. Yes! That was me. We had resorted to the hint (which is incorrect) and were looking under the bush by the wall when the snake rattled! Mr SH leapt backwards a good three feet and we both made a quick retreat! I had seen a snake ( not a rattler) at an earlier cache and was already unnerved so we did not make any more stops on the way! But mostly that is because Mr SH is not a numbers cacher and I have to choose wisely to get him to stop at all!! Hope you all have fun on the trail! Jane
  21. These bluebell woods make me so homesick! We were too early to see any on our last trip home!
  22. Congrats to SD Rowdies for entry into the Iron Mountain Hall of Fame!! O.k., the lines are open ... I'll be sitting here by my computer watching for the congratulatory admiration to roll in.
