  1. AN honest question......and Just curious i was looking at (or maybe scanning would be a better word) the guidlines.. and didnt see where this cache would be in violation... would you point that out to me .. ive seen this type before and didnt know that it was in violation. I'm curious where it said you can't do that type of cache.. so i can show others in my area that have this type.
  2. about 2 inches long at the body......add more for legs.
  3. Come on down.. like everything in life you just have to watch what you do. Snakes -yes we have seen a few but most just move out of your way. Spiders- we see many but as IK said they are more a pest than a danger. Gaters- not a issue unless you have pets on the trail or very small kids in the edge of the water, they tend to move away at the sound of people though. The biggest thing is buy stock in anythign with DEET or a spf 30 rating you will be using a bunch of both.
  4. Not trying to start anything but your one part about GW3 not being laid back and a day of meeting others is wrong.. If you had come you would have seen that, The day of the event was all about people we had no cache runs that day unlike past events.( there were caches for people that wanted to go look for some) All planned cache runs were held on Sunday the day after the event.. we had many to chose from and the run i did was a slow run for anyone that didn't want to rush around town.. It was the handicaching run and we had a great day of nice slow at your pace caching.. not number caching. two runs were in historical areas. one was a fast paced cache run for the ones that wanted numbers. and we even had one you would have enjoyed an all hiking cache run ..
  5. What you just said is the type of things that need to be said.. You show a true unbiased reasoning that no one else had tried to state.. I agree fully with a different area of the country, the Southeast has had it three years and it should move around the country each year. west.. Texas..north etc.. but i don't see anyone else saying that, I see put it close to me so I can go stuff.. not what's best for the caching community.. I may have P#@#@ed you off and mixed the pot a bit and for that I do Apologize to you. Everyone here needs to think GEOcaching not MEocaching... What's best for everyone.. for some numbers.for some hikes. others handicaching. others sit and chat... and Who can offer that best for the community. you saying Texas or north or west is fine and might get someone in them areas to say we can do it.. but others saying I want it close to me or only a event no caching or all hikes is not helping anyone.
  6. Not sure I noticed your log on the GW3 page. Were you there? I wasn't there either. Does it mean I can't have an opinion? I'm sure there are going to be plenty of opinions to go around and many of the forum junkies will be posting. But lets keep it friendly and to the topic.. Is your group going to try to host the event? We can sit here and banter all day but if you dont have a group that can host the event and the number of people to do the work that it will take to make GW4 another premier event why blow smoke. I'll admit its fun to get others all heated up. But Can YOUR group do the JOB, and are they all willing to put the months of work into making the event as Great for everyone as GW3 ... that means Everyone High number types/ layed back types/ hikers/ urbans drive bys/ HANDICACHING/ GeoWoodstock is for ALL CACHERS not just the type of caches you or a few others like.....CAN YOUR GROUP DO IT<Thats the real question.. It really dosen't matter if my local organization is applying to host the event or not . As a interested cacher I think my opinion should count. I'm not blowing smoke, I have a genuine interest in where the next event will be held. El Diablo Opinions are like ________ everyone has one... The fact is the topic is for WHO is willing to host the next event .. everyone can post for months but if a group does not want to step forward and propose that they can do it.. this will accomplish nothing. and yes it all still comes down to JOE, Geowoodstock is his and he is in on how this would be done .

  8. I've been averaging about 600 cache owner emails a day for the last week... all GW3 cache logs. Just started to slow down yesterday and today less than 300 both days..
  9. FYI every cache at GeowoodstockIII was and still is a perm. GC.com listed cache... know your facts before making assumptions.
  10. This was so much fun.. with the planing it all came together and just fell into place, everyone did there part and it all worked out. I am glad that everyone had a good time and you enjoyed your stay in NEFGA land. I heard nothing but good things said, even about my caches. Your always welcome back and if you need someone to cache with just drop a line in the NEFGA forum and you will have all the offers you will ever need.
  11. I'm well known in my area for some very heavy camo type ammo cans. . but the one i get the most coments about was a container that was bright and i mean bright pink..
  12. Thanks for the compliment I spent a lot of time designing them. I just hope they look as good in person.
  13. I very seldom post on here but i just had to add my 2 cents... The Reviewers / Approvers here in Florida are great my hats off to both Crow and Florida cacher. I've had several of my cache placements that required a bit of extra communications to get them approved but have found that IF I do my part and place the cache within the guidelines and make sure I give enough information to answer any possible questions in the reviewer notes we all end up happy. Its not fare to place all the pressure and research on the reviewer. He/She should have as much information to help make a decision. Every time that there has been a Question or concern on one of my cache placements it had always been somthing I had overlooked. Don't blame others for your own mistakes.

  15. Try this one, and let me know. Very hard to make it readable that small Small Logo button
  16. my Guess would be ( they were originaly jewlery... a magnet lightup earring set) I've seen them and rings that light up without the magnet . the log would go into the battery compartment .
  17. get a copy of GSAK GSAK found here great program and easy to use
  18. I places most of my cache with the intent that everyone will be able to get to them.. I do tend to start some of my better caches or caches in a nature sensitive areas as MOC. My intention is not to exclude or reward anyone but to try to control the mass rush to a new cache location. I live in a area that has a large number of cachers that are very active and involved by starting the cache out as a MOC it tends to slow down the rush and I have seen less enviormental impact. Yes some might feel cheated out of FTF but the challenge, Hunt and the Location are the prize not the McToys.
  19. He'll also be carrying a El Diablo anti butt kicking staff. El Diablo And for backup I'll have the StressClan standing on the side to cleanup whats left.
