  1. I keep chasing threads around on this so apologies to repeat this request in another spot but I'm not sure if it has been noted elsewhere. For the Print Friendly Pages - When the Google maps return, can the positioning be in the same place as the old maps, which in Australia at least, is at the top of the page. This will give an easy reference in the same place on each cache page. On V1 of the google maps they were hard to find (ie They will be in a different spot each time depending on the length of the cache page) and cutting in half across pages should they be in that spot. Kindest regards, Rabbitto
  2. Moved from previous thread - Regarding the new maps on the print friendly pages. As a cacher in Australia, we use (used) the maps at the top when filing caches to be done. They provided us with a quick way of planning trips eg This one is a bit North of Bendigo, this one is a little north east from that, the next is a little further east etc. Although the old maps were fairly basic they did for what we wanted. Although the new maps are a lot better - the following problems are occuring which are making it currently worse - 1. The maps, being at the "bottom" of the page are no longer a good quick reference for us when flipping through. For different caches, is the map at the bottom of page 1 or the top of page 2 or the middle of page 3? Only the length of the description determines this. 2. When we print from the "Make this Page Print Friendly" view, the map cuts in half between pages, should it be located in that spot. 3. When this happens the part of the map on the first page is a blank square and the part on the second page prints map 4. The page would have previously have printed on one page anyway and not two, had the map been in the same position as the first map was and is thus not that friendly any more. In short - can the map go back to the top where the old one is? This will fix all. Thanks for the assist. PS Just to shortcut - No, I'm not getting a palmtop anytime soon
  3. Is this the right forum for this or should I be contacting someone directly?

  5. As an addendum to my original post, the new Decrypt feature is not as smooth on the Print-friendly pages either.
  6. The Print-friendly version only prints data on the left two thirds of a page as the Inventory column seems to take up the other (blank) third, which is going to take a lot more paper to print cache pages. Also the font is now Times New Roman which way not as nice as the old font.
  7. G'day Alain R, No good to us as we're on the lower side of the contintent, but try posting a query to<p> Aussie Forum as there are a lot of geocachers up in Queensland or Northern WA that would probably be near this.<p> Rabbitto
  8. Steve Austin. It has to be Steve Austin!
  9. We always mark an "X" on the side of our car before leaving it. Once we have found the cache we walk in ever increasing circles, firstly discarding anything that does not resemble a car. Once we find a something that doesn't "not" resemble a car we check the car for an "X" and if we find an "X" we hop in. This has been a fairly foolproof method for us except for the dozen or so times we have driven off with a taXi in error. We cant believe that more geocachers do not employ this method rather that going to all the trouble of waypointing their car.
  10. Is it ok to refer to a person who likes geocaching but also likes to dance exotic dances in confined spaces, squashing large trees, sleeping curled up and collecting lion king warthog figurines as a - Rumba scrunching, lumber crunching, slumber hunching, Pumba bunching, number puncher?
  11. We saw a very large wombat at a cache on the weekend. If this baby had hit an iceberg instead of the Titanic, the iceberg would have sunk. It did not come home with us
