  1. HI, I'M TOTALLY NEW TO THE Wherigo CACHES AND HAVE COMPLETED 2 OF THEM. THE FIRST WHEN I TRIED TO UNLOCK THE CARTRIDGE ON THE Wherigo WEBSITE COULDN'T LOCATE THE FILE. I THOUGHT PERHAPS WE DIDN'T SAVE THE GAME WHEN FINISHED AND THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. THIS WEEKEND DROVE A WAYS AWAY TO DO ANOTHER AND MADE A POINT TO SAVE THE GAME WHEN FINISHED, JUST TRIED TO UNLOCK THE CARTRIDGE AND IT CAN'T FIND IT. THIS IS WHAT I'M DOING, I'VE GOT MY GARMIN HOOKED UP TO THE COMPUTER AND AM GOING TO THE Wherigo WEBSITE AND I'M CLICKING ON THE UNLOCK TAB, FINDING THE Wherigo UNDER MY GARMIN ON MY COMPUTER BUT IT SAYS :AN ERROR OCCURED AND THE FILE IS UNREADABLE: DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS WHAT I'M DOING WRONG? I CAN'T GET THE CODE TO UNLOCK OUR CARTRIDGE. THANKS! GWEN
  2. WE ARE NEW TO THIS GPS AND CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO DELETE CACHES. ALSO I JUST GSAK TO SEND CACHES TO THE UNIT BUT THERE ARE NO LOGS, HINTS, ETC. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. RECEIVED THE UNIT LAST NIGHT AND AM LEAVING TOMORROW FOR A CACHING TRIP! THANKS!
  3. Hi all, I'm trying to do a Wherigo cache at one of the Georgia parks in November and don't want to have to purchase another device sooooooo now that Apple is letting outside folks write programs and sell them on Itunes do we think it might happen soon? Thanks so much, I'm excited to give it a whirl but don't have the funding available to purchase another device! Mrs. honeymooner
  4. hi there all, There is a website: www.geocaching-italia.com When we travel to Italy we always go there and look up some caches! :-)
  5. Wow! Someone that actually has the software. Does it actually work as advertised? Did you get it with either of the receivers that you can get with it, or are you using another GPS with the software? The Steaks So far the software does work great! We are trying to figure out how to dowload geocaches thru the POI loader and have it name the POI the cache names. Through some reading it appears this is a possibility but Garmin says no. I think it may be possible thru GSAK loader and perhaps some macros but am not familiar with the process. We use the 20X Garmin GPS reciever on a Acer Aspire One. WE ARE ACTUALLY OUT CAMPING THIS WEEKEND TRYING TO SEE WHAT WE CAN AND CAN'T DO. HOPEFULLY SOMEONE WILL BE ABLE TO HELP US WITH THE DOWNLOADING INTO GARMIN MOBILE PC PROBLEM. THANKS

  7. I've recently purchased a Garmin Mobile PC and don't know how to download geocache files to it. Can anyone help me. I've been told I have to download POI files but unfortunately I don't know how to do that. Thanks for any help! Mrs. Honeymooner
  8. WE HAVE THE GARMIN 60CSX AND LOVE IT. BUT RECENTLY WE HAVE NOTICED THAT WHEN WE ARE COMING TO A CACHE THAT THE NEEDLE IS NOT POINTING IN THE DIRECTION OF THE CACHE BUT RATHER 90 TO 180 DEGREES OFF. IT IS FRUSTRATING AND SO FAR WE HAVEN'T FIGURED OUT HOW TO CORRECT IT. WE'VE RECALIBRATED IT BUT IT HAPPENS REGARDLESS OF CHANGING BATTERIES OR NOT HAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED THAT PROBLEM. WE SEARCHED THE GARMIN SITE BUT COULDN'T FIND A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. MANY THANKS!
  9. WE HAVE RECENTLY PURCHASED A GARMIN MOBILE PC FOR OUR LAPTOP AND WONDER IF IT IS POSSIBLE TO DOWNLOAD GEOCACHES TO IT. WE REALIZE THAT WE WONT GET RIGHT TO A CACHE BUT IF WE ARE OUT AND ABOUT IT IS EASIER TO SEE ON OUR COMPUTER SCREEN. THANKS
  10. The sites we visited were all related to the nuraghe civilization in Sardegna. They are all sites that you have to search out as they are not just by the roadside. One site was not even discovered it was so well concealed unti the 1930s and the nuraghe village was thought to have hidden its inhabitants from the Romans invaded Sardegna. The name of this site is Tiscali. We also visited a nuraghe village one of the few villages found in which upwards of 100 nuraghe remains are found. We visited the Tombe of the Gigantica - which originally was thought to me a giants tomb but through research they have found that it is the burial chamber of nearby nuraghe villages. Of note is that there are large limestones stones (megalithes) that normally form a semi circle near the entrance. Also there is a temple named Malchittu that was thought to be a temple of worship for the rain gods in nuraghe time We used to live in Sardegna and of course were looking for caches near where we would be (didn't know about Waymarking when we went) and made sure to mark these spots and pick up descriptions and history of them thinking to make them virtual caches and then as I wrote one up and didn't have the choice of the virtual cache started exploring Waymarking. Any and all help would be appreciated. Two of the sites are easily accessible and one of the sites requires a short hike and Tiscali requires a much longer hike but the reward is much greater. thanks!
  11. I'm not to familiar with Waymarking and actually didn't know it existed until we got back from Italy and I wanted to post some virtual caches. We did a few hikes to some archeological sites in Sardegna and wanted to post them to Waymarking but don't seem to find a category that actually fits. I'd appreciate any and all help! thanks
