  1. I just bought a few Summits for my daughter and niece. I paid 139.00 at Academy Sports and Outdoors. I own the Vista. If I could do it again, I would have bought the Summit also. I have a Nuvi for the car and I don't really cache across state lines so no problem there. I also have not bothered to put in ANY maps to the vista. I can't really say that I need them. Find caches just fine without them :-D
  2. Went today to a park that had a few caches. Being the prepared Girl Scout that I am, my geocache bag was fully stocked for any event. One particular cache required a steep climb up loose and tricky ground. As my geobuddies and I sat at the top to catch our breath and contemplate the dangerous descent in store for us, we tried to remember the way we came up. We quickly realized that the trail had been marked for us when my bag must have come opened and released items, for there on the trail every few feet was a feminine hygiene product! .. we rolled around with laughter. Would have been too funny for the next cacher if I had left this most interesting trail marker.
  3. Hi, I am a girl scout leader in Texas. We have more than our share of chiggers. My girls always manage to find them while camping. Best solution: dab all the "itches" with clear nail polish. If you are desperate you can use any color you want however, you will look pretty funny with pink polka dots! The nail polish suffocates the little critters where they have burrowed into you. They die quickly. --Brandi
