  1. If anyone still reads here, the waypoints are back in working order after a bit of a break while I was moving. Cheers, Rob. Ok, 10 metres. It's somewhere around here...
  2. Hi. Just thought I'd let you know that I've got my Geocaching Waypoints page at http://www.roblisa.com/geocache/nz.html working again after moving and geocaching.com changing it's format. If you don't know what it is, it lets you download waypoint files in a number of formats (Garmin MapSource, OziExplorer, Waypoint+, EasyGPS, MapInfo, MapTech, CSC) containing the cache waypoints for all of New Zealand or separated into North and South Islands. It can also differentiate or remove caches that you have found already. The data files should be updated once a week. A complimentary function is also available which summarizes cache pages for printing, on a slow connection, or for handhelds. Let me know if you have any problems. Cheers, Rob. Ok, 10 metres. 3. Hi. Just thought I'd let you know that I've changed my Geocaching Waypoints page at http://www.roblisa.com/geocache/ from the UK to Australia, now that I've moved back. It lets you download waypoint files in a number of formats (Garmin MapSource, OziExplorer, Waypoint+, EasyGPS, CVS) containing the cache waypoints for all of Australia or on a state by state basis. It can also differentiate or remove caches that you have found already. The data files should be updated once a week. A complimentary function is also available which summarizes cache pages for printing, on a slow connection, or for handhelds. Let me know if you have any problems. Cheers, Rob. Ok, 10 metres. 4. As Richard & Beth suggested, I am going to change the site to Australian waypoints. The problem there is lack of maps. There's no equivalent to streetmap.co.uk or AutoRoute Express and not even a MapSource Metroguide yet (there is something called CityNavigator but it is excessively expensive and aimed at the StreetPilot). The most popular thing seems to be OziExplorer with the AUSLIG 1:250,000 scale topo maps so I guess I'll add that as a format. Ok, 10 metres. It's somewhere around here...
  5. Our one attempt at a Travel Bug (Macey Badger) never even got one log before it went missing. We dropped it in The Devils Jumps and it's apparently gone now. Ah well, that was fun. We think we'll give it another go though and drop one or two and see if they can make it back to us in Australia. Ok, 10 metres. It's somewhere around here...
  6. Hi. My contract here in the UK has come to a close so we will be moving back to Australia. Therefore I'm looking for someone to take over the UK waypoints hosting at http://www.roblisa.com/geocache . Basically it would involve running a perl script every few days/week and then uploading the files to the web site. The custom cache and summary features would also require perl cgi access on the server. Some knowledge of perl would probably be advantageous if geocaching.com changes their format or new features are needed. Any takers? I was thinking the new http://www.geocacheuk.com/ site might be a suitable spot for it. Cheers, Rob. Ok, 10 metres. It's somewhere around here...
  7. Hi. Ok, indexes are available via a new dropdown. You can have No Index, Index at Top or Index Only. Also, hints now have [decrypt] links as requested by Chris & Maria. Cheers, Rob. Ok, 10 metres. It's somewhere around here...

  9. The oldest currently is Scotland's First (GCF0) at http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=240 hidden in Dec, 2000. There may have been others earlier that were archived but probably not many as there were only 239 earlier caches hidden worldwide. As for our first, it was also View From Coombe Hill (which holds the second oldest spot). A bit more of a drive between caches in those days Ok, 10 metres. It's somewhere around here...

  11. Hi. Just a small update. There is now another form on the summary page that lets you get a summary of the caches you haven't found that are near a given cache so you can choose a cache near your house or holiday destination as a base and get all the closest caches in one file. Cheers, Rob. Ok, 10 metres. It's somewhere around here...

  13. Ok, there is a page up now at http://www.roblisa.com/geocache/summary.html which filters the geocaching.com cache pages into simplified html suitable for printing and handheld devices. Note that this script is unrelated to the rest of the geocaching pages on the site and as such it is not restricted to UK caches and does not rely on me performing refreshes (with the exception of OS grid references which are extracted from the index pages but are just omitted if not found). Cheers, Rob. Ok, 10 metres. It's somewhere around here...

  15. That would probably depend on what you mean by Palmable pages. Do you just want a plain text file that you can paste into a MemoPad document or a .pdb file or a page you can access through a Palm web browser? If it's a plain text file, send me a sample of what you are after and I'll see what I can do. Cheers, Rob. Ok, 10 metres. It's somewhere around here...

  17. Hi. The UK Geocaching Waypoints page at http://www.roblisa.com/geocache/ now has an option to generate files that indicate which caches you have found or lets you just download found or unfound caches. The list of caches you've found is generated along with all the other files so you may find one or two missing if you have logged it after the last update of the files but it will appear within a few days (unless we go on holiday again ). Hope you find it useful. Cheers, Rob. Ok, 10 metres. It's somewhere around here...

  20. If cheap is what you are after (and small to boot) then you could look at the l'espion at £40. We personally use a Canon Digital Ixus but it looks like fun. http://www.digitaldreamco.com/shop/espion.htm Ok, 10 metres. It's somewhere around here...
  21. Well if he asks me to to remove the page then I will but I would have thought the problem was more with people having archived and active caches in the same lists. Mine are clearly a list of archived caches and they don't appear in any of the download waypoints files. Anyway, hope you meet some of you at the meet on Sunday. Ok, 10 metres. It's somewhere around here...

  23. Hi. I've added another page to our Waypoints page at http://roblisa.com/geocache/ which lists the caches that have been archived since the end of March. The archived date is the date of the first update after it was archived so will probably be a few days out. Ok, 10 metres. It's somewhere around here...
