  1. I have used a MAC for a while now, and have had my Laptop at hand if required, which I have never fired up. I use iCaching, to chuck my caches in and then sent to my Garmin if required. Not really had any issues. I have played with adding a windows emulator to have GSAK to play with, and use improved cache filtering, this is a little clunky as the windows side had one or two issues picking up my Garmin. All in all, I would never look back at Windows anymore. I hate going to work and having to use the dreaded Vista machines.
  2. Cheers for the info guys. I shall have to find another way around it.
  3. Hiya guys, I have been looking to log caches via SMS, and have come across http://coord.info/textmarks.aspx I have however not been successfull. I send the SMS to 41411, and my phone will not send the SMS. I have tried to sms other numbers and it is not the phone. Has anyone else had problems with this. Or can we not use this in the UK Cheers Andy
  4. Hiya guys, I have an garmin E-trex H, It has worked great for the past 18 months, but has finally started playing up. It locks up from time to time for anywhere between 1-20 min. This can be at the start up screen or outside in a clear GPS area. I have updated the firmware to see if that will do anything, also put the original firmware back to no avail. I have also factory reset the thing. I am going through the process of leaving battries out for a week so all power drains from it to see if that does anything. Any other Ideas Guys and Gals. Cheers Andy

  6. Is it just me, or when I am watching TV and see a nice location I think (ok say out loud) "I bet there is a cache near by". Has anyone one watched a TV program and thought this, or possibly done a cache near the filming location ?
  7. I have one of these, found a fair few with it with no problems, accuracy is great on it.No maps though, but thats half the fun )
  8. I use it, would be nice to see more people use it. As a previous poster says, only Firefox and greasemonkey users can use it.
  9. I started out paperless using my mobile phone. Just as long as your phone can read a TXT file then you should be able to use that. Just remembered, my car GPS is used for my paperless caching. So maybe worth looking around to see what you use and see what you can make good for paper less.
  10. I would love to do that just to see what comes back form it.
  11. Congrats Fuchsiamagic, on getting you 1000th Cache. Well done Chris
  12. Does anyone know where that cache is ? Does seem a bit of a farce through, no caches logged etc.
  13. I noticed that with regards to the photos. I had placed a picture, "View from the cache site", surly thats what the photo should be, and not oh "whilst driving back doing the cache took a photo of this"
  14. Unfortunately, yes. Perhaps it's a plastic variant of swine flu..... seems you can't move down there without tripping over film canisters and trails Some places in Somerset are the same. I had been out today, only done 8 caches. All but one was a micro, what is the point in putting a micro out where a good sized cache should be. Just seems like someone had flown over the south west and chucked a big box of 35mm canisters with logs in them.
  15. 80 MPH at 19:30 ) hope the caches in the area are battened down )
  16. Sorry jumping in on this. I have been thinking about buying a MD for some time now. Being a newbie on the MD front, and I mean newbie, what do I need to look for. Any help, or pointers to some MD's would be great.
  17. Very much done the same, only bagged two through as Mrs Andyfee was on the case and did not want me caching over easter weekend. Managed to bag one other in Devizes today, I was back up there visiting family again. I have a busy day sorted for tomorrow though 24 to do, hopefully a nice walk around. Linsey & Lorraine < - - Hope you move Terry on to a nice spot.
  18. To add to the above comment. You can find the ISP from the IP address. Why don't groudspeak, forward these IP address to the ISP, from there they can be traced to the person using that IP address at the time and then the ISP can bar them from using A brodband connection.
  19. Yes but they would all have the same IP Address, if from same computer!! Most ISPs charge extra for a static IP. My understanding is that it can change everytime you log onto to the internet. The ISP i work for, when the router is switched off, and then regains sync again you are given the Next IP address availible. So you may get the same one back, and then the otherway a didffernt IP address may be given. Some companies do provide a static IP though. There are various means to hide your IP anyway.
  20. 93 :-) Thanks for the Coin Test
  21. I have nice dipping coin, however it is getting a pain to dip the coin in each cache I have done, and then retreiving it. I have planned a loop to 48 caches in a day, I am not looking forward to dipping my coin in the caches, Would be nice if something was done on the site with regards to that, however I am getting bored of doing dipping as there are other means of getting travelled stats etc, I may just release the coin.
