  1. Thanks for all the help! We just got back from our first hunt, very fun. We found 2 but on our 3rd one, the etrex kept changing which direction to go at certain areas so we just gave up (not to mention I was getting a horrible sinus headache). But all in all we found it very fun. I'll make sure to get the PC cable, but I have another question: How much different are the other etrex models? I have the standard yellow one, and I want to eventually get into more advanced equipment. I know there are quite a few other models, but what advantages do some have over the others? Just a brief description will do, thanks! Oh yeah forgot, how do I get my member level name changed? I don't exactly like "tadpole"
  2. Was it one of your own caches? You might be able to tie it or even chain it to a nearby object, but that might give it away... I guess all you can do is hide it really good, and out of the way of most people.
  3. Just got one for the holidays, and I'm wondering if they're any good for geocaching. That's the main reason it was bought for me, and I have heard from some reviews that it's perfect for geocaching. We do have at least 10 in the area that won't take more than 15 minutes to get to (at least the general area), but I do have to wonder, as I haven't really had much time to read the manual and I can't see how it could work with geocaching. Then again, I don't know too much about geocaching yet either... So, I guess the main question here is: Is the Garmin etrex a good geocaching tool? Also, all I got was the etrex. No wires, nothing. I mean, it came in the original package, and I got the general stuff (like the wrist strap) but I don't really get the main gist of it. If anyone could explain I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks! P.S. Anyone else here kayak?
