  1. I will get outraged when they start posting spoilers/solutions to your puzzles on the cache page i used to do this all the time! dear (insert virtual owner here), i will be visiting your virtual next week and logging it properly. in the meantime, since you state on your cache page that the information is not available anywhere on the web, i went ahead and found it on the web. here are the links: (insert relevant links) it's tons of fun. On second thought, maybe not. I assume that, like you, they are having tons of fun.
  2. The trekker space pen by fisher. I liked it so much I got more and gave them as gifts to some friends. Got mine off ebay
  3. I found a pack of firecrackers in a cache. I didn't raise an issue about it. I just traded them out of there and moved on. You've got to wonder about people who trade in things like that...
  4. Try sending a message to outforthehunt. He is the guy with the Brass Cap Cache. I'm sure he could answer your question.
  5. The reason I bought the gps in the first place was to mark fishing spots. I have two units now so I use the old one in the boat and the other one for caching.
  6. I was never one to go for a walk in a park to get a bit of exercise. Now I do it as often as I can
  7. I've recently decided to strive for a 10% ratio. That being 10% or less of my hides to be lum caches
  8. Not likely, they're too busy patting themselves on the back and boosting at events about how many caches they've hid I pretty much view these lum caches as "cheap hides by lazy cachers"
  9. bishop is the owner of the cache you are refering to. It doesn't mean anything other then he is the owner.
  10. and a bird nest for the same winter friendly ammo can event
  11. I came up with this fake bat house for a "winter friendly ammo can hide" event
  12. Since caching doesn't stop at the 49th parallel, I'll chime in for Alberta, Canada. To my knowledge no one up here has ever multiple logged an event for the temp caches. I held an event this spring that had three temp caches to entertain the kids. Not one cachers either attempted to or question the possibilities of logging those temps on the cache page.
  13. I would gladly welcome an answer from anyone to this question, not just you. Maybe not an answer but a viewpoint. I don't see it, so much, as defining what is right for everyone else but wanting to define the game geocaching under the geocaching.com domain. I can't help but think of the movie Caddyshack when I read these types of threads. In the movie Rodney Dangerfield/Al Czervik has his own version of a set of golf clubs. When he gained control of the golf course he changed the game from what the establishment knew it as to his version. It was funny to see the carnival sideshow set up on the course and the lawyer wanting to play contact golf. It was their version of golf and a number of them were having fun. Many on the other hand did not welcome the changes and fought against it. I can see why many here don't like the changes taking place. It's a game they started playing a few years ago with what seemed like a pretty clear set of giude lines. Personally I don't understand the temp cache logging. I don't view the temp caches anything differently then a horseshoe tourny or a sack race. It is all part of the entertainment at the event. I don't see temp cache logging as an established acceptable practice within the gc.com framework. If it were there would be a way to properly log the temp caches rather then saying you attended an event 20 times or what ever the case my be. This Caddyshack style of caching is not played in my area so it doesn't tend to concern me one way or the other. Pretty much everyone here plays it the way it started.
  14. I passed your question onto a fellow cacher/ gov. guy. Hopefully he will have the location for you on Monday.
  15. There is a breed of cacher out there that is big on numbers and short on effort, including both their finds and hides
  16. 2 The Herd coins 1 Broken W both really nice coins!
  17. Seems more like the "Daily Coinbox" for several of you. Do some of you actually get mail in that thing? (not that it's a bad thing)
