  1. I was flipping through the flyer today and noticed this, that is a very good price for this model. They usually retail around 320 or slightly higher. I bought a factory refurb for about 280. Great GPS and I have heard that the accuracy on this model is better than the Oregon or Colorado from people that own both.
  2. I tend to run a lot when I geocache, I find it a good way to get some exercise. The problem I have is the clip that comes with the 60 cx allows the GPS to swing and I don't really trust it for holding the GPS in place. Anyone have a good belt case that is quick and easy to lock and release the GPS but also stable enough so when I am running I won't be concerned with it falling out or knocking around? I think given the size of the unit something mounted horizontally would work the best but I haven't seen anything yet. Any suggestions please.
  3. If you never DNF you aren't caching hard enough. I've had sessions where my DNF's were more than my finds.
  4. I haven't placed any caches. When I do place a few, I do plan on reviewing logs when they get full and comparing it to the online logs. I think in order for it to count you have to sign the log to prove you have been there. I'm sure if I place a lot of caches log verification will become less of a priority but if I only have a handful of hidden caches, I figure why not. It's pretty simple, you either find it or you don't. If you do, sign the log. You gone through all the effort to find the thing.
  5. I generally don't, but most of the caches I have done so far are in an urban setting, I find reading just the description ruins it for me sometimes. I just download the coordinates and go.
  6. I wanted to see how hardcore people are so I did a search and came up with this http://www.zinnware.com/HighAdv/Geocaching...aches_found.php Quite interesting. I only started under a month ago and have found a few. I am wondering how people that have hidden a lot of caches manage to maintain them. I realize a lot of it has to do with the cooperation of all geocachers as a community but I would imagine the cache maintenance is ultimately the responsibility of the cache owner. Seems like a lot of work to maintain 50 or 100 different caches. Logbooks, pencils, new containers etc.
  7. Just an fyi it's Whitehorse, YT and Yellowknife, NWT.
  8. What's Iona? Better yet, where is it?
  9. Anyone know of a place in Vancouver that has geo coins, cache supplies, maybe some shirts with some geocaching sayings logos on it. I'm in town for a bit and want to get a few items if I can. If all else fails I can always order from one of the Groundspeak online retailers.
