  1. Just to answer the question, The NW Trails Project is run by Groundspeak's very own Moun10bike. Totally as a side project and in no way affiliated with Groundspeak other then he works there.
  2. Just had to go over to Ellensburg for work today. Snow was out of the trees far above the tunnel and I couldn't see any signs of snow on the ground at that elevation either.
  3. I just want to add that Plan B is a good plan, just trying to find other options for you, not saying I wouldn't want to do the other hike.
  4. Pye Are those the ones that head up the west side of Sumas Mountain? I was just looking at that area along with the trail that runs up Stewart further west.
  5. Really not sure what the snow level is but this area has been looking good for a while Check out the area around GC1WNXP hmmm maybe not, a trail report from the general area says 2 feet of snow at 4400 feet. There is also Sugerloaf and Mt McDonald near Kanasket Palmer. MD is 3300 but all logging road.

  8. What do you have plan to have set up?
  9. PN is shorthand for the Delorme GPS. The model numbers are the PN-20, PN-40 and the new PN-60
  10. That was very interesting to play with. I was suprised at the differences along the main roads in my town. Very rough on the OSM but navicable. It makes me want to drive around my town for a few hours and fix them.
  11. It wasn't an issue when I stayed there a few years ago.
  12. I am out... I can only do one hike this weekend and the distance is too far. GRRR Maybe Dudley and I can hit this some other day.
  13. Sounds like fun but I would have to see if I could get the hall pass for that day.
  14. Has the road in been reopened? According to Ruck's log it looked like the hike may be about 9 miles.
  15. yes, but my english is not so good, maybe I will make some picture description Don't worry about your English, we'll figure it out. Some pictures and some text would be fine. That is one neat cryptex. Seconded. Use your native language. Someone around here will translate I'm sure. It looks like you did a fine job. I don´t made new Cryptex, for photos I used some old spares. If somebody knows better text, find some mistakes,or if you have any question, plese send me email - hydrous @ hydrous.cz click for cryptex Sorry about my english ;-) Your english was more then sufficient. Very nice and simple design! Thank you so much.
  16. I am so sorry for your loss and she is in my prayers.
  17. I am going to assume that the quote is a typo and they actually mean that you need a permit to place a cache, not to actually go caching. I also have to laugh that they are completely at cross purposes as they only allow the size types most likely to cause significant environmental degradation by having to examine every tiny place, and in the most visible possible spots by not allowing anything off trail. But at least it isn't banned so that is great.
  18. I am not sure where you got the $800 from. The 60W comes with the spot receiver at the $550 price point. Sorry about the price point documentation. I got then from a blog I frequent and the blogger was at the consumer electronics show. I just did a quick cut and paste. edit for clarification
  19. I managed to find a few other price points. DeLorme PN-60 (no wireless): $399, PN-60w: $449, SPOT Communicator: $169, PN-60w and SPOT Communicator: $549.
  20. Saw this today. The new Delorme PN-60w with SPOT reciever. Also looks like it is available for presale at Amazon. Anyone been able to find any real specs on this one?
  21. Alright, another stupid question. Do I need a parking permit at the parking area for the hike Saturday?
