  4. Hi all, i was wondering if anyone could help me find a minting company in china/ overseas that the "bigger" companies work with to produce their trackables??? i would like to develop some of my own, but don't want to go through a "middle man" if i don't have to. if i have to, i will... any help is greatly appreciated!!! kristy

  8. hooray! i'm not insane! lol i've been wracking my brain all evening.. lol glad i found this thread! hope this gets resolved before the weekend..i've got a huge excursion planned! i'd hate to have to put all the coords in by hand, but will do if needbe! kristy alnkristy aka teamspongebob http://teamspongebob.blogspot.com
  9. If one of our travel bugs haven't been put back in a cache in 6 weeks, I send a friendly reminder email asking if they know how to log them in or if they'd forgot to do so. Most of the time one goes for so long without actually "dropping" back into a cache it's because the cacher is new and didn't know how to do it. we have had many travel bugs go missing throughout the last year and THANK GOODNESS Groundspeak sends "copy" dogtags... we've re-released some, but others we have no clue. it is what it is... and hopefully a friendly reminder will move your geocoin along. good luck! teamspongebob http://teamspongebob.blogspot.com
  10. oops! i accidentally hit ignore on a cache and would like to know how to "unignore" it?? any advice??? thx.... teamspongebob http://teamspongebob.blogspot.com

I plan on taking lots more pictures in the future on cache runs now that we have a blog, but wow... some of these on this forum string are just breathtaking! kudos cachers! kristy from alnkristy (aka teamspongebob)
  15. Our current challenge is the PA All Counties challenge. Our last goal was to hit 250 by our 1 yr caching anniversary which we've blown out of the water well before the year was up! follow our progress on our blog at http://teamspongebob.blogspot.com kristy from alnkristy (aka teamspongebob)

  17. hi everyone! just wanted to make sure all the new cachers are aware of the difference between logging a "discovered travel bug" note and an actual "retrieved travel bug" note. we've had several travel bugs being "lost" lately and when tracked down to the guilty party, they just didn't know they had to log them as a "retrieved" and then a "dropped off" note. please make sure when we discover travel bugs, that we are logging them in a timely manner and if you have questions, don't hesitate to ask questions. everyone i've talked to on the forums and in person are more than helpful. we're still relatively new to the sport, but are very active in hunting for caches. again, sorry guys if this sounds like a rant. just want to make sure we're all logging things correctly! best of luck this spring caching! team spongebob
  18. hello there! we use a garmin etrex venture hc and love it. every once in a great while i clear out the caches we've already found to clear up the memory, but it has basically all the features of the vista. color screen, etc... but will a little better price range. al and i started caching in september and didn't want to get a gps that was too expensive if we ended up not liking the sport. turns out not only do we love to cache, but we love the gps too! and also, yes dollar store/ dollar tree... is good. also, hitting up walmart after a holiday to gain some trinkets. i find some items off ebay in bulk at times too, since we're "team spongebob" and pick up spongebob related items pretty reasonably. hope you enjoy your homecoming with your family and have a safe return! and oh, definitely include the girls in the caching at some point. not all of us are into frilly pink things... i love bugs and outdoors and a still a woman through and through! kristy
  19. caches are to be "family friendly" so condoms are unacceptable. if you find them again, you should remove and dispose of them. children geocache with their families quite frequently. teamspongebob
