  1. TeamGRNZOOM checking in with 1.05 CWMI. Guess we should kick it up a notch. Nick I may have found the Queen of Cachers... Some of you who attended the Feste of the Round Table in Escondido may have met her. She isn't local, but is here often grabbing local caches. Some research indicates: EMC of Northridge,CA has 7.75 CWMI Nick

  4. We have been out of town also. Made a quick caching trip to NV. & AZ. The trip jacked us up to 611. We found one of Princess Toadstool's TB in Victorville and dropped it off some where along Hwy 95 in AZ. Also, got one of Parsa's on Rt. 66. Nick & Sharon GrnZoom

  6. Thanks for the links... We are taking a caching tirp in Oct. to Laughlin/Lake Havasu City and wanted to do some caching along the way. We were there in May, since then here has been a lot more caches hidden the the area. Nick

  12. This ia another Dan-oh classic. I think the city of Escondido conspired with Dan-oh on this one. We were just behind Cornerstone, J&J and D-Jollman. Had to wait for our daughter to drop off Kyle (14 mos) so her and KD (3 yrs) could go to the water park in Vista. We did need a life-line, but never the less we'll take 2ed TF. 13. Congrats.... Earl & Sally!! Nick & Sharon TeamGrnZoom
  14. Hi Dave... Good luck to you and your family in the Mile High City. Thanks answering questions about geocaching, and going paperless. You have been a great help getting us started. Take care... Nick & Sharon TeamGrnZoom

  16. Bravo Zulu Five-hundred finds eh? Is it any wonder? Sharon thanks you. Now I'm twice the man I was.... Nick
  17. Sunday we Zoomed out to Jamul with about 50 other Miata for the San Diego MiataClub's annual picnic. We only need twelve caches to reach 500, so that was our goal for the day. After the picnic, we did some caching in east county and picked up our 500th Fish and Chips - GCPN6Q - by T.R. Violin. Cute cache. We are lookng forward to many more caches and meeting interesting people, discovering new locations and learning a thing or two along the way. Nick & Sharon TeamGrnZoom
  18. We just returned from a week end at the Indian Wells Resort with our daughter, son-in-law and grandkids. We picked up 30 caches and would have gotten more if it wasn't for the 112 to 120 temp. When you need a rag to carry the cache back to the car and hold it next to the A/C vent before it can be opened.. it's toasty. Caching with the temp. 120 is a record for us. Nick & Sharon TeamGrnZoom
  19. . . . . . . Ahem . . . Ah yes , congrats on 200. And Kawikaturn on 1000. Premium Member Posts: 3 Joined: 28-December 03 Maybe someday we'll make the big time, but for now we'll take our 300th we picked up today. We do-do'ed with GCP555. Monday we are going to the Gold Country, Tahoe and Sacremento. Thanks to RocketMan's class and his crew, 110 caches are loaded in a Palm and in the GPS. Thanks! Where could we put 110 pages of cache info. in the Miata? Maybe have a picnic at Kit Carson Park in Escondido. There are lot's of caches there and for a quick grab, Snakes and Latters. 21. Well...here's the first-hand account: Basically I had spotted the cache and was coming up out of the area (for those of you who've been to the site, you know where I was) and was headed to the egde of the road to get a better look, when the city facilities worker and an Escondido cop asked me what I was doing down there. I believe I surprised them, as they were walking towards me from somewhere unrelated to the cache area. Proabably they were just checking on something else when I got unlucky and was asked to explain my actions. Well, not wanting to run for it, I explained about the cache and where it was. They asked to see it. I said I'd need help to retrieve it. Facilites guy was kind enough to help in this regards. They examined the cache and satisfied that there was nothing nefarious, they proceeded to cite city regulations about no trespassing in this type of area, as it should logically be "off-limits". I countered their gambit with the usual, "but I didn't see any signs, officer". Before I could cite loose vs. strict constructionalist interpreations of the law, the officer gently asked me to remove it from the area and then remove myself from said area. I obliged not wanting to deal with Escondido's "justice" folk anymore than necessary. (FlagMan can back me up on this point I'm sure and no offense to GRNZOOM intended). So that's basically what happened. All in all the most fun I've had caching with the police since my run in with the NYPD last month. I just can't seem to get the fuzz to leave me and this hobby alone! --TT-- P.S. Hope everyone is having a very Happy Arizona Statehood Day! TT is what we call a 925 subject. "suspicious person". We know that call was right! He is suspect at times. My though is the city worker saw a 925 (TT) enter the area and called for PD back up. Good thinking on the city workers part. A few years ago we did have a homicide and the victim was dumped about 200 yds. south the the cache. You never know... We were there sometime after the cache was removed. Sharon waited on the sidewalk for me. I made it down, looked for about 5 mins. and decided I could use some help. When I got on the sidewalk Sharon said, "let's get outta here." Some guy was watching me from the parking lot. He was hidding behing cars trying to see what I was up to. He didn't look too friendly. We got out of there before the cops came again. Which is a good thing. I don't know to many officers hired within the last eight years. Now.... we want to hear Flagman's story. Nick
  22. Due to stuff around here we couldn't Zoom out to the valley for some caches. Will the caches still be there next week? If the weather is good we plan to Zoom out and grab a few. TeamGrnZoom
