The reason it was posted here is because it seems there are alot of caches that are being placed without permission in the south. I dont want to see new laws banning this great hobby because some people dont respect the rules of the game.

Will be in the Tell City area this weekend on the way to Holiday World,any suggestions on great caches?

I will hunt an urban micro if its on my way to another cache, I have never found an urban cache that I would compare to a good 5 star hike in the woods.

I have found several cool micros, however I feel its gotten out of hand with people not paying attention to the rules on where and how to place a cache. When someone submits a mico in a restricted area like a gas station its a matter of time before it gets muggled or worse you are pulled over and harassed by the police. Once you have found one on the back of a guard rail whats the point unless ur in it for the numbers? I dont intentionally drive 100 miles to hunt a micro but I will from time to time look for one if its on the way.

Got a box of Jeeps in the mail yesterday...will be placing them in Middle Tn this weekend. Be on the look out.

Just wondering what other people do when traveling with your GPS. I have tired to drag a laptop along and hook my ETREX LEGEND up to it. It works fine on long trips but on a short day drive its really more trouble that its worth. Just wondering if anyone else has a neat set up with maybe some kind of LCD screen linked up the the GPS so you can have a big map to navigate with. With the laptop I never have to stop and plan turns and such because its all in front of me but just using the LEGEND its self I find myself pulling over trying to figure out on the tiny screen where the road was I missed LOL.....thanks in advance for any ideas.

Seems this is a growning problem not just here in Tennessee.. I think there needs to be a posted off limit area list this may help someone thats new and not sure if they can place one there or not. I realize there will still be gray areas but its getting out of hand.

Dont know about other areas but in Tennessee Micros are almost a drive up roll the window down and sign the log. I have been doing this 6 months now and had my first run in with the police trying to find on in a Golden Gallon parking lot . I was very discrete in my searching I waited until dusky dark but because I had been parked for 10 minutes the clerk got nervous and called the police. Which I can understand the clerks position I would have probably done the same thing. The officer advised me that the stores next to the interstate are always on the look out for suspicious vehicles because of all the hold ups and the next time I looked for one in a setting like that to just tell the clerk what I was doing. But Im pretty sure they dont know its there to start out with so that would only get it taken up. So my ? is should certain areas be off limits?

While reading this pose I read alot of complaints about the "junk" you find and I guess thats a new topic but it all comes down to responsible cache N. I have found several that look like they have not been checked on since they were placed. I like them all but tend to lean toward the larger ones because its alot harder to hide an ammo can. In my searches I have found some really creative micros the best one yet was a small one about the size of 4 big watch batteries stacked on top of each other. Think I will try to filter my search and look for one with maybe gas cards in them $1.93 here today for regular gas. Just my 2 cents worth.
