Are you riding it Jerry? I'm thinking about it. I know there are more bike riders aroound here, maybe we can get them to go too. I'm in; but I'm riding my hybrid. What bus we taking back? 6p was good last time; hopefully, the wait won't be as bad. I think 6 was a good time, plenty of time for tacos and beer. The wait at the boarder sucked but I'm over that now. I'm signing up again and hopefully I'll even ride it this time if the sciatica just stays as calm as it has lately.

I'm in...Downhill Dick said he'd hang with me...not many downhills so I should see him all night right? jl The ride is a fun party-atmosphere type of ride. Riders light up their bikes; others dress in their jammies. . Now that's something I'd like to see-- Dick and Jahoadi riding bikes in their Jammies I've signed up already but I doubt you well be seeing me in my jammies. That's unless you are hiding in the bushes somewhere along the route.

Woo Hoo! Congratulations to The Lost Clan for 1000 finds. Now can you remember how many silly bushes you had to dig into, how many rocks you have turned over, how many lamp shirts you looked under regardless if the cache was there? Great obsession isn't it. Congrats.

Congratulations on your 3000th find and also congratulations for all your other contributions to the local caching scene. Your part in the Sandy Creek Cowboy series, the classically named caches such as, Pull my Fanger, Bend over and cough, Y'all Gonna Die, Why I Oughta plus the others such as Total knee replacement, Total Hip replacement, Stented heart, and a few other ailments that escape me now. I still have to get out there and grab "Mike, the Headless chicken". Thanks for everything and keep up the great work.

Speaking as one who's been there: Y'all are gonna hurt a lot! (And you'll have a blast!) Good luck! (And don't forget the number 1 rule of mountaineering: Don't let the summit overrule wisdom. If you are alive, you have the option to try again...) Randy (Thunder-4) and I are alive, but we did not make the summit. I'm sure that Don (Zatyko) Steven (devhead) and obviously Patrick (Polar Bear) did make the summit. Randy made it to 12K and I made it half way up the switchbacks to 13K. We're both clean and shaven and looking at a nice meal, while the rest are still trying to make it down... As long as all are safe then the summit will still be there. Great effort and congratulations for even attempting such a daunting task.

Just saw an interview with Gobolts! on Channel 8's, 6:30pm newcast pertaining to Tony Gywwns induction into the baseball hall of fame. I am assuming that the interview is from Cooperstown. Another celebrity in our midst.

6PM meet at the cache "Holey Poley" then? and go from there. There is plenty of parking there; should there be a number of cars we can car pool up to the other trailhead caches to start. 6pm at Holey Poley sounds reasonable to me and I will be there at the appointed time. See you all there.

I'm still confused. Did I just miss the final decison about: the day, the time, the location, the meeting spot or teh dinner spot? Not sure if it is finalized other than a night walk up in the Carveacre area starting sometime around 4PM with the possability of dinner beforehand for those who want to eat. Anyhow, I have all the caches up there done and am just going along for some nightime picture opportunities. I do have an SUV, so if parking at the top of Carveacre is a problem, I could shuttle people up from the cache Holey Poley if they want. Has what originally was to be a night hike under a nearly full moon turned into a late afternoon hike beginning at 4pm and likely to conclude before darkness to avoid all the monsters and critters of the night. Bummer. I would have been up for an early dinner and a little later start to add to the experience of hiking in the cooler temperatures and under the cover of darkness. Eerily fun.

I'm in, just let me know which night so I can make work arangements . Just bumping this to see who thinks they wants to make the hike, and which night they can make it? What time works well for everyone? It starts to cool off out here after 4:00 p.m. On Saturday night, the sun will go down about 7:50, and on that night, I think the moon will be coming up close to the same time the sun sets. It should be a beautiful moonrise! If this goes off on the 28th then I am up for it. Can't make it if happens on the 27th. I hate it when work interferes with the more enjoyable parts of life.

If it happens on the 28th I would be interested. Have to work the day of the 28th and don't want to be wandering around all night and then work in the morning.

One idea would be to let us post one traditional and one puzzle cache that share the same container and log. But you would only be allowed to log one of them online. You would have to ignore the other one to get it off your radar. The puzzle would require the solver to email the owner with an explanation of how he solved it. There would be no reason to cheat because you could always just log the traditional. We could name this new type a "traduzzle." Three Cheers for "Traduzzle." I hope that wasn't a trademarked word for which I will now have to pay royalties. How about Puzzditional.

I personally would sign the log, but not log online until I had solved the puzzle. My own ethics say "no solution, no smilie". Ah, but what constitutes "a solution". If you derive coordinates in a different way than the cache owner intended, is this or is this not a solution? Anyway, how can you really know what manner of solution the cache owner intended. What if he or she intended for you to stumble upon the cache? There is a huge gray area here. Let he who has solved every puzzle without any hints/help cast the first stone! There's a difference in getting some help from your friends, and putting in time, effort and some brainwork to come up with coordinates; and logging a find while out caching in a group where only one person actually solved the puzzle. I personally won't do it, but I don't have an issue with someone who thinks that is ok. I've had people find my puzzle caches this way, and I've never deleted their finds--nor would I. I simply don't feel it is right . . . for me. That said, I will speak no more on this. I honestly solve or really "try" to solve every puzzle I log. I will even go back and solve a puzzle, if I find it with a group before I've actually solved it. It seems silly to not log it, then solve it and then go back and find it again. I don't care if people that can't solve puzzles turn them into traditionals. Maybe they should let you log them as traditionals if you do them that way.... Perhaps GC needs a new category, Puzzle/Traditional. You can solve the puzzle if you like or you can just go find the cache if you wish. Of course this would be totally up to the cache owner to place the cache in this category if they so desire for those of us who have mental limitations when it comes to puzzle solving. Just got home and found one of those little 4x4's in my mail also. Now to find a worthy lamp post.

So it happened that I deleted my first two TNLNSL logs by the same cacher. After deleting the logs I sent them a nice note as to why. They reposted their find with the same "TNLNSL". Is this really an unreasonable requirement? I haven't yet deleted the reposted logs, I don't want to turn it into a pissing match. A friend at work suggested I change it to a request instead of a requirement. Other suggestions? Thanks. Very interesting thread D!. I can't wait until those negative forum posters chime in! I can't type so it's real hard for me to post my finds. Logging 50 caches using 2 fingers gets fun, but I do try to make an effort. The thing is...so many of my geocaching experiences entall an adventure (in stupidity usually) that I really like to tell all about them. On the other hand...half the reason I place caches is to hear what people will write! You can always count on "Lostguy" to make you laugh! Nice topic D! r/ jodi I try to always make a different post for every cache I find and don't think I have ever logged TFTC or TNLNSL as my only note. I read logs from various cachers and will sometimes send them an email if they wrote a log that I really enjoyed. I know I have sent Jodi a few email for some of her logs and I really enjoyed Flagmans log for Kwvers Bird Food! cache and sent him an email of adoration although we all can't be so gifted. I quess we can just continue to enjoy the vast majority who take the time to log each cache individually although if I ever got energetic and found over 30 in a day I don't know how I could remember that many.

Post something in the New England Thread and I'm sure they have wonderful and helpful cachers there just like in San Diego when someone says they will be in town. Probably get lots of ideas and maybe an offer for a guide.
