By the way, with the hot summer weather at an
end I am reaping heaps of enjoyment from the
Geocache log entries for CRSP hides.
Thanks to all for the entertaining log entries. I
read them with delight and always revisit those
cache pages to view posted images. I promise
that I will never, ever Photoshop a single one
of the posted images. Honest.
Thanks,
Sweet ol' Harmon

Quiet lately, someone needs to give Harmon some ammo (aka:pictures) to work with.

Haven't posted in ages. Going caching up at Cuyamaca tomorrow, April 22nd, anyone have any interest in joining me. Between 8-10 miles would be fine with me. I need caches pretty much every where in cuyamaca so don't have a specific location in mind.
Where is Miragee when you need her
Must have been me because it couldn't have been the area. Have an offer from some really nice folks.

Too bad you have to actually look at the cache page before you put them on your ignore list. Some of the caches I can tell without even looking that they are going to end up on my ignore list. Just a random thought that was passing through my mind and I thought I would share it.

Congrats to Silver Horde for entry into the Black Mountain Hall of Fame!!
Woo hoo! Congratulations!
Welcome to the Hall of Fame Congratulations thread. What about the Hollenbeck, Sweetwater, Otay, Tijuana River Valley, Silver Strand? I'm just bitter because I am not a member of any Hall of Fame anywhere.

There were a ton of folks that were more worthy than I for a Yrium card but I thank Ragfoot for the nomination and to Flagman and Harmon for their usual stellar work. I'll have to see if I can get a hold of one of them cards.Introducing Yrium TNG #14 - "lostguy"
Thanks for Ragfoot for the subject selection and Harmon, of course, for the awesome design!! A few copies can be found in the usual spot, Max's Favorite Park. PLEASE DON'T HOARD THEM!!

Trivia question ...
Yep, that's the Santee Boot Rock. For ten points what lies in
the hollow down below Boot Rock?
I know! I know! The' below' question answer is.............something I fell in getting to Not Boot Rock!
Please ask Tom to enlighten you as to what Boot Rock looks like from the other side
Splashette
Uh-oh, hope my name doesn't come up when I ask Tom
about the other view. Your phrase "fell in" begs for a
complete explanation. I don't want to find out that Steve
makes you take the lead while on the trail. If so then he
should be ashamed of himself. ... nice lady like you and
all.
Hmmm... Good thing "lostguy" doesn't read this forum...
Man, is he that ugly? I've heard of a "stone-face" but my
goodness, what could be worse?
And by the way, how does one quote his user-name in a
sentence? Like ... his user name is ""lostguy"?"
That sure is a handsome looking profile that someone painted on that rock. Wonder why I didn't see it last time I was out that way. Must be a recent tribute to some local hero or something.

5 hours 20 minutes left
Considering the post was placed on 12/11/09 then this will be a tough one for those of us folks without a time machine.

Noticed a posting on Craigs List that someone from El Cajon found a Garmin GPS while walking on a dirt road behind Walmart. Doesn't say which particular Walmart but did anyone in the local geocaching community happen to lose a GPS recently.

I went by Max's Favorite Park and checked on the supply. Sure enough, all the GMS cards are gone but there were still 8x TNG#10 cards. I added 10x TNG#10 cards, so now there are 18 of those left. I'll try and drop some more GMS cards soon.
PLEASE DON'T TAKE ENTIRE SETS OF THE GMS CARDS. JUST TAKE ONE GMS CARD AND ONE TNG#10 CARD PER PERSON.
Thanks, -FlagMan
Dropped by Max's Favorite Park this morning and grabbed one of the TNG #10 cards as per Tom's request to take only one per person. Couldn't actually justify grabbing one for my wife although I had thoughts. There were 13, TNG #10 cards remaining as of 8am today. Thanks Tom and Harmon for a job well done.

Introducing Yrium TNG#10 - Ginger!
Thanks to teamhaynes for nominating Ginger! and to Harmon, as usual, for the great design. In addition to the TNG#10 card, please be on the lookout for the Ginger! Memorial Series of Cards ("GMS Cards"):
Ginger! was one of the first Geo-dogs in San Diego with an account of her own and her logs are some of the most entertaining to read. She liked every Geocacher she met, but her true love and devotion was definitely her owner and waterboy Chuy! He took her chasing rabbits and hiking the trails day and night. Ginger! was the founder of the Dawg Team! and welcomed all other four or two legged cachers to join. Some of her favorite members were Willow! and her sister Mocha!. Ginger! was definitely cherished by the San Diego Geocaching community. She lost her life in a tragic accident on 8/2/09 doing what she loved most, and will be sorely missed by all.
A full set of cards was left this afternoon in Sweet Little Golden Lady. More to follow in the usual drop, probably later this afternoon. Stay tuned to this channel...
Great Job!!!!!! A fitting tribute to a dog that was loved by everyone who met her. The geocaching community will sure miss her.

Although I am not adept at dancing men and all those other fancy things, I would like to Congratulate Gaylemar on finding her 1000th cache today in the Iron Mountain area in under a year. It took me several years to reach that number. Congratulations Gaylemar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So after going through almost 1,100 emails from logs this weekend, here are the FTF totals for the trail:
Team Duncan & Chuy - 27
Team Thunder-4 & Kawikaturn - 9
dtn92129 - 5
Nowayteri - 5 (Also reached her 300th on the trail)
Team balcanthez & Unknown_2_U - 3
Team Flagman, Lulu499, Legocollin, dhsundance, Snake & Rooster - 1 (the one that got away)
Congrats to all !!
My Butt is SORE!!!
After reading this, I have decided to not go caching with Unknown2U or at least let him bend over to grab the cache first.

This was an article from the St. Petersburg Times Newspaper on Sunday.
The Business Section asked readers for ideas on "How Would You Fix the Economy?"
I thought this was the BEST idea....
I think this guy nailed it!
Dear Mr. President,
Patriotic retirement:
There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force -pay them $1 million apiece severance with the following stipulations:
1) They leave their jobs. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.
2) They buy NEW American cars. Forty million cars ordered - Auto Industry
fixed.
3) They either buy a house/pay off their mortgage - Housing Crisis fixed.
Can't get any easier than that!
One of you math wizards want to tell me how much this will actually cost so I can tell if it's a good deal or not.
-
I'm sure the usual suspects have already seen this in their email. I've already signed up.
Uh oh guys...look what I just got. I'm ready for that new bikeNcache trail in RB.
JEEZ! You just bought a new bike for the last ride and now another one. Hopefully you won't need camo duct tape to repair the tire on this one. Nice looking ride.

I see from an article in the San Diego Union yesterday that Mr. Jorgenson is retiring in the Spring. Perhaps his successor will at least be open to some dialogue regarding allowing geocaches in the "Park". There is hope again.

Just a quick pause in the Penguin Parade for a local snake we saw at Hollenbeck. We have no idea what it is, but it had no rattle and it's skin was almost iridescent so we took a picture.
Chuy and I ran into one of these in Horsethief Canyon once and Ginger almost stepped on it without even seeing it. I think Chuy knows the name of the snake. I think it was Mike or something.

Me and SKILLET had just finished finding C&D Parks are great GC1M19M in MiraMesa and are Vista HCX lost satelite also my NUVi 270 and Marks 200. It was down for about a hr. Sometimes it would come up but the ACC. was Hi of 550 ft to low of 30 ft. Finally it returned to normal This was around 10 this morning. Weird.
Yes it was weird, 4 GPSrs losing signal for about an hour. we were driving around blind.
Almost went into withdrawals. Almost called it quits for the day and then they came back nice and strong
I was out hiking and grabbing all of Jahoadi and Johns, "NUN" series and didn't experience any satelite loss. Would have been a pain to be out there with no satelites.

Cache Critters of Antarctica (#23 in a series)
More Penguins Than You Can Shake A Stick At, Deception Island, Antarctica
Kind of hard to see the penguins but every little bump that looks like a white rock is a penguin...even the ones high up on the hillside...
Thanks for all the photos James. Most of us don't even get to see this much interesting photography in National Geographics.

I am trying to figure out how to post in the forums since it's been so long. I'm also trying hard to believe Harmon but both are difficult. Love your hides in Cuyamaca Harmon, such a great area.
