  1. I saw this (gpsurbo) the other day. I have had no chance to play with it on any platform. It was mentioned in another thread on Groundspeak - so a bit of searching for linux in the techy bit may prove fruitful. I'd like to try this on mac - but will have to compile it myself
  2. Thanks for the info. I havn't created a cache, so I'm unsure of the process. I'd assumed that the HTML markup was created as part of the transfer using communicator - not input by the cache creator themselves. I guess I can live with the bad text. At least I've got two people to blame!
  3. I'm on the latest version of the firmware, so I guess it's not that - though thanks for the suggestion. I'll hunt around the GSAk forum to see if there' anything about that there. But why is the markup incorrect in the first place, that sounds like a Groundspeak issue? I'm not sure how the description is generated - I can't believe that cachers are writing html - it must be generated for them.
  4. More specifically look here for the cache export macro and here for field notes import. Dead easy to use even just with the default settings. And links to these and lots of really useful stuf can be found in the colorado wiki
  5. I've just started geocaching, and am pretty impressed with the technology available, and it's integration. However, I've noticed that when I download a cache using my browser from gc.com, to my colorado 300, I get HTML markup included in the description. If I use GSAK, there's no superfluous HTML. I've tested this using safari on my Macbook, and also Firefox on windows an it appears to be the same on both. example from GSAK: example downloaded using communicator: I suspect that i've just not got something configured correctly - but I can't find any previous reference to any similar problems. Despite the limitations of downloading single gpx files - I find this quite convienient for my current level of geocaching activity - so would like to be able to get readable descriptions. regards
