Where do you find the EPE on a 60CSx ? Is this the +/- feet Location on the Satellite page ? Thanks Jim W

Any clue when the new WAAS SV is operational?
Jim W replied to CoyoteRed's topic in GPS technology and devices
I can remember a couple years ago it wasn’t unusual for my Garmin GPS V to have accuracy of 5 to 10 feet, and some times as accurate as 3 feet, have they changed the satellites for civilian use? I remember discussions on the forum about when we were in a military action the accuracy was better, I’ve been away from Geocaching for quite some time, and now getting back into caching, went out last weekend with my daughter she used the GPS V and I used a 60CSx, and the best accuracy we could get was 20 feet -
You might try a treble fishhook, and fishing line, bend the points out a little so that it will snag the stick

A couple of things I like about MapSource .... With Mapsource you can see the locations of your waypoints on the maps and select those which you wish to upload to your GPSr - with EasyGPS I don't believe you can. With MapSource you can "categorise" your waypoints. Personally I use GSAK to manipulate/filter caches and then upload them to my GPSr. HTH Thanks HTH, I just noticed a lot of people talking about EasyGPS, but I couldn't see the advantage, thought I was missing something Jim W

Is there any advantage of using EasyGPS over using MapSource to upload caches to your GPS ?

As I understand it the Topo USA map does not have auto-routing, so what is the advantage of using Topo USA when Geocaching ?

Red90, you came through with the answer as usual, I knew if you were around you would know, you sure have been a great help to me, thanks again BTW, I found the Tide Tables on the 60CSx, right where you said they would be Thanks Jim W

Yeah, I have it connected right now with the usb cable, and I've uploaded maps to the 60CSx, but it's still grayed out
-
Don't think that's it, I'm using City Select NT v7 and City Navigator NT v8 the GPS is a 60CSx, and both are grayed out while selecting maps, MapSource is version 6.11.3
-
While loading maps from MapSource I noticed the grayed out check box at the bottom left corner "Include route calculation data" is there a reason this can't be used ? or should I not worry about it ?

What card reader do you use for Micro SD cards ? I have a SanDisk 12 in 1 reader, it will read Mini SD cards, but don't think that will work with a Micro SD card Thanks Jim W
