  1. Thanks for the advice. I just discovered I'm a vampire.
  2. My profile pic seems to be messed up. I can see it here SOMETIMES but not other times. When I click on my own profile to check the status of my trackables, the profile pic shows up as a question mark. It also shows up as a question mark in online logs. What gives? And how to fix it?
  3. FYI, horses' digestive systems don't digest weed seeds. So by spreading horse manure, you spread weeds. Someone else mentioned composting it. We've found that composting it for 6 months to a year is about all you need. So we always have two piles -- one that is composting and the other we are currently adding to. Once a year, the old pile gets spread over the pasture and gone over with a chain harrow to break it up. It's ok for fertilizer at that point. Then the new pile becomes the old pile, and we start a new pile.
  4. In every epidemic or pandemic in the past 20 years, I've gotten it. I don't want this one. I finally have a job that allows teleworking, and I'm not doing anything whatsoever to intentionally risk an exposure.
  5. Lately I've been logging, "Found but didn't sign the log due to coronavirus" in my online account.
  6. My wife and I will geocache on occasion, but it isn't really her thing. She is a horse whisperer. I can stay in the saddle, but she is a no kidding whisperer. She trains horses using the "natural horsemanship" method, which I find absolutely remarkable. I do what she tells me to do and it works, but watching her is like watching an artist. I swear, she speaks horse. In any event, I ride because it's something to do with her; it is not a passion for me like it is for her. So we went to a popular rural area where horseback riding is allowed, and rode about a 4.5 mile loop. It took 4 hours because we were geocaching along the way! I have to admit, that was rather fun. I think we'll be doing more of that in the future.
  7. He's the one who dropped it where I found it. I went to the TB log to see when he found it, and his post said "My first TB!" I have a feeling he's been holding it for the past four years without realizing what he was supposed to do with it. He replied to my inquiry in a few minutes, claiming someone had just handed it to him. I didn't call him out on the lie; he finally figured it out and dropped it in a cache.
  8. It was on my 53rd find that I finally came up with one! I looked it up online and it wants to see baseball parks, and I happen to be a HUGE baseball fan. So I grabbed it. It wasn't listed in the cache's inventory, and according to the TB's log, hadn't been seen in four years. I sent a message to the owner, letting them know I actually have it in hand, and will hang onto it for a bit until travel opens up and baseball games are held. Then I'll drop it near a ball park on one of my travels. Interestingly enough, the last person to have the TB four years ago visited the same cache where I found it earlier today. Hmmmmmm...... I sent him a message, too.
  9. I’m not sure how, but they both interest me. Has anyone used both hobbies at once? What did you do?
  10. Do people tend to put them in premium caches to avoid newbies swiping them by not recognizing them? I’m currently not a premium member.
  11. I bought my first trackable bug, the style that looks like a dog tag. Is it ok not to attach it to anything, but to just hide the tag itself in a cache?
  12. Hello, this is definitely not the case with us. We each have our own account / screen names, and the only time we both log the find is when we are together and find it together.
  13. As of posting this I only have 26 finds (but in two states and two countries!). However, to date I've never encountered any type of trackable. I'd like to; what is the best way to search for them? How often do you typically find one?
  14. My wife and I are both newbies, and we went out geocaching together the other night. We each have the app on our phones, and each logged a find on our respective phones whenever we found one together. Is that considered uncouth, or cheating? Or is it ok?
