    ATTENTION Stockton cachers!!!! I plan on hiding a cache every week so we can boost the amount of traffic through Stockton. So I hope that you will join us and hide caches! Thats all I ask <_<A CACHE A WEEK!!! ;)

    We like what one of our CVC cachers did over the last weekend! Now thats the ticket...Good job Sanruft and family. Maybe its time for TeamTek to do some thing like that, then maybe you will get that mad dash to the North... After all the North side has more places like this than we do down here! :rolleyes:

     

    We just did a caching trip this weekend down highway 395 and was great!!!

    There was also SUN!!!! :blink:

    Ready? Set? Whoa! I present to you, FTF opertunities on National Treasure - Ripon. Did I say, you asked for it.  :D

    I like to think that I am a little smarter than the average bear, but I don't know where to start with this thing! :D

    My sentiments exactly, Ted. I'm totally confused and frustrated! I guess we will just have to meet tomorrow at 10:00am and have a mini Event Cache.

    Not only has this forum gone over 100 pages, but it is closing in on 5000 posts! What do CVC Cachers have that others don't...?

    a) too much time on their hands

    :) too little interest in other topics

    c) a greater than usual need for cyber-connectedness

    d) understanding spouses

    e) faster modem connections

     

    or are we just a gregarious bunch that likes to keep in touch with our extended (geocaching) family?

    would not specify what (if any) charges would be held against Camel. (But he believed it was for a felony)

    THAT'S A BUNCH OF, sorry cant say that here!!!! If that is true MPD will get a letter from us to state our minds.

     

    Monday iam making a few calls to my law buddies to to see what the facts are here.

    This is enough for me to quit the sport. I am going to archive and pull all my caches this weekend. I love this hobby, but it is not worth the aggravation that Camel is going to have to go through. Bummer!

    So now what? Is the MPD going after Camel? thats what iam sitting here wanting to know? Do they know who placed it ect? We are behind our fellow cachers 100% hang in there Camel. I still think the MPD jumped the gun on this one. I just hope this all works out for everyone. I dont think we need to go around and take our caches back and archive them, that would just be giving in too them and doing what they want us to do. Maybe the ones on school grounds, close to police stations ect. owners may want to remove them? Yes we do need to move on and this will/ maybe something we all can learn from.

    All I have to say is if that cache was marked www.geocaching.com and the MPD did not take 5 mins. to go look that up them %%@# on them. There @ a school and had internet right there, iam sure they got wireless with all our tax $$$. Sorry this makes me so mad that they have to take such a little thing and make it a big deal and to BLOW up a rubber maid or something close to that container. Ok i had to vent some here........ but come on MPD..shows how #%$%# they are some times.

    Well if I were the one who decided to blow the cache I would do it. I mean so what if it has www.geocaching.com written on it, it's still a mysterious package at a school. Although I hate it when muggles do this, I think it was the right choice.

    He brought home a note that stated that the Modesto Bomb Sqaud (despite it being competely marked stating it was a geocache complete with the web address)  decided to blow up the cache even though they KNEW what it was!

    $ATM$ requested a moment of silence while we pay our respects to the lost Travel Bugs. I told her it didn't have any bugs so she's fine with things. OMG! I'm sorry to read about this happening Camel.

     

    I hope Modesto will be more considerate in the future. :o Maybe an educational email to the trigger happy force is in order!?! But you said ''they KNEW what it was.'' Did they really?

    Yes, I'm disappointed that very few have found my two newest caches. Perhaps it's because they are too hard? I guess I'll go back to placing boring old regulars or micros with bad coords........ ;)

    Marky, I called Target in Modesto on Sisk and in Manteca, and nobody even knew what I was talking about. I would love to go in this evening, I'll see if I get away. My hubby has headed to Valley Sporting Goods in Modesto for a down jacket. I promised him something special if he brought me home a GPS.

     

    On another note: I looked up my coordinates on my address on Maporama, and this is what it came up with.

     

    Lat-Long:

    37° 44' 3" , -121° 7' 50"

    37.7344 , -121.1308

     

    I was going to plug it in my profile, but I wasn't sure which parts to put in.

     

    I also found some items to leave in caches-I think they are cool. How do I know if they're cool? Just leave them and see what happens?

    Ok now I know this subject has been explored but here we go again...... Ok I'm trying to go paperless and my dad purchased a palmpilot and I've been sitting here for 2 hours and I can't seem to get it to work. Ok I've gotten the Plucker program on my computer and the GPX thing too. I did the Pocket Queve on geocaching.com and put the file through the spinner. I got a file put out but now I'm lost on what to do. I've tried setting the directory to that file the spinner spit out, but it won't let me set that file as the directory. Did I forget a step? ......I need some help if anyone can help me can you please email me, post your comments on the forum. Thanks. ;)

    First off use cachemate, with GSAK and you will be home free. Its so easy. Forgot how to use plucker, and we dont want to go there!!! :anibad: Get cachemate and then we can talk. ;)

    I tested this on my own cell phone and was able to enter a log. check it out at

     

    http://wap.geocaching.com

     

    This will be the permanent location for the WAP interface. You can also log caches with a web browser if you want to bypass all the web pages on geocaching.com

     

    Let me know if your phone doesn't work with it. We tried it with a multitude of mobile phone simulators, but I'm sure we missed a couple.
