  1. Okay, I'm guessing it's your Mover #1 coin. I find the best time to do this is when it is sitting in a cache. If it's in the hands of another cacher you have to coordinate Grabbing it away and back and that can just add to the confusion. Okay, while it's in a cache Retrieve it out using the Current Date. Post a Note on the missing cache - using the date it was picked up - and Drop the coin in. In this case 10/24/09. You will immediately be given the option to Delete the cache Note. You can delete it without affecting the coin tracking. Now Retrieve the coin back out using the previous date (10/24/09) Post a Note on the current cache using the Current Date and Drop the coin in. Again, you can delete the cache Note. Now, access the coin page and delete the logs where you Retrieved and Dropped the coin on the current cache with the current date. That way it'll show the last cacher as the one who did the Drop. To update the mileage you may have to hit the recalculate button. Please let me know if I need to clarify anything! Thanks for the info. Actually it was my Cache Mover #2 Cache Mover #1 basically has been KIDNAPPED by a local cacher right after I released it. I know they have it as they posted on the page that they had grabbed it. They never logged the mover and have not done any caches since. Kind of disappointing as I am not really sure why some would want to grab traveler knowing full well that they are not going to be doing much caching. Sorry to Hijack the thread.
  2. Logging can be fixed quite easily, no matter how far back you need to go. Want me to give you a quick walk through? Please do. As the person this person actually put the GC number of the cache they found it at.
  3. 1. Grab it from current holder 2. Write a note at the cache where you picked up the coin and drop the coin there. 3. Pick up the coin from said cache. Or you can just grab the coin, but by doing so, the mileage is screwed up. GermanSailor Yes do this. I have a Traveler that did not get dipped into a the cache it was found in. Needless to say the finder was kind enough to let me know that they found it and that they were bringing it all the way back to Wisconsin for me. Needless to say My traveler did not get credit for the 1500 plus miles for the cache it was found in.
  4. The Delorme PN series work great for paperless also. I Have the PN-30 and I am loving it. I do really like my garmin but for the money I really prefer my delorme.
  5. +2 On GSAK. Give it a try its free to use as long as you would like but as mentioned the NAG screen stays up longer and longer after the 20 day free trial. But after about day 15 I was sold on it and bought it myself. It is worth every penny.
  6. Well on either you would want to have the gpx files needed to use all the features of both programs. I would say try both I have found both to be fine programs. I opted to go with Blackstar my self as I find it to be a bit faster program. I found Cachberry to be a very large program as far as blackberrys go and it seem to work alot slower. But try them both see how you like them you get like a 15 day free trial of Cachberry. Either way I think you will find you want to spend the $30 for the Premium membership or if you are not sure if you are going to really stick with it just pay the few bucks for a month of Premium give it a try worst that will happen is you LOVE it and you Spend the $30 for an extra year. Happy Caching.
  7. From GSAK you do not need to use the POI loader. You can use the seen to gps feature built right into GSAK. Once you get a big data base set up in GSAK I ussually sort like a 30 mile radius around where I am going Cashing for the day and make sure it is less than 1000 caches I try to keep it aournd 900 that leaves me room for doing multis. Then send to my 60CSx as for the nano do a search for the macro on the GSAK site I have tried the IPOD macro for my Classic and it works ok. All and all not a great feature. I have a Nuvi I find loading the CASHES in there for paper works alot better. Though I have recently purchased a Delorme PN-30 and the full Paperless features on the Delormes is very nice. For the Price you cant beat it.
  8. I ues GSAK and the True paperless Nuvi macro found here True Paperless Nuvi Macro
  9. Where did you get your replacement cable?
  10. I would like an extra cable for my Delorme. Besides the Delorme site does anyone know where I can pick one up?
  11. I do not know about GeoBuddy but as far as i know with GSAK you will have to run Boot Camp or Parrallels with Windows to use it.
  12. It will just sit there forever and not move again. I tried using the DeLormeGPSExport macro, No luck there either. When I run it, I get a command box that shows where gpsbabel was run, but then it just hangs there. One time I ran it, and it sent ONE cache, which was the first in the list in GSAK, but I can't even get it to do that again. Any advice? Really flustered that I can't even take my new toy out yet because of this, and I really don't want to do it one at a time on GC.com Windows 7, GSAK 7.6.2.45. You should not have to use a Macro out of GSAK with that version of GSAK under GPS set up to Delorme PN-40. Then GPS pull down Send Waypoints. I used this with PN-20 Now PN-30 and works great.
  13. Well I had a PN-20 and it was a great unit. Down side is that it was slow after using my Garmin 60CSx it was almost painfull to work with for speed. Though it was just as accurate as my 60 always got me to GZ with no problems. But the speed issue got the better of me and I decided to sell it. Well a deal came up and my Brother in Law got a heck of a deal on a couple of PN-30s and I decided to give it another chance figured that if i dont like it I should at-least be able to get what I paid back out of it. Well lets just say SO far I am way more than impressed with the speed. Response is way more like my 60 is. I will give it a field test tomorrow after work. If it works as well as I think it will I very well be putting my 60 up for sale this summer. Time will tell.
  14. I have really liked my Blackberry Tour. Does a very good job so far. for a Phone with a GPS
  15. I have been using Blackberry tour 9630 tried cacheberry and black star both have done very well in getting me close enough to the cache to find it. I agree does not 100% replace a good handheld but if you are at the office and get a notice of a new cache that pops up it will definitely do the trick. I ham extremely happy.
  16. Not sure what OS that is running but maybe check out Cachemate http://www.smittyware.com/palm/cachemate/ there are versions for a quite a few os including window mobile and pocket pc. It might be an option for you.
  17. I use my Nuvi for road nav to get me close to my Geocache destination and for Paperless features. Then I use a hand held. If you are going to keep the Nuvi and just pick up a hand held to complement the Nuvi then the Etrex would be a decent choice. Now if you are returning the Nuvi to go to a hand held then I would recomend the Delorme PN-40 as it will give you the paperless as well as halfway decent road navigation right out of the box.
  18. Ooh, I didn't see that one. And yeah you're right - there was a rotter in there. Did you report it to the mods? No I did not. But that is the type of Hacking I was refering to. I just feel that we are all human and we should treat eveyone like would want to be treated.
  19. My OP was not just at the Price thing. It was aimed at comment made in this thead. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=238069 Someone looking here to BUY some basic GPSr gets flamed with a comment I feel was really un called for.
  20. I really love being able to come to the forums for information. This site by far is one of the best and most people are willing to answer questions of all sorts without flaming someone. That being said. I have found from personal experiance that the garage sale form seems to just be loaded with Flameing and hacking. I have seen no rules that say any one has to have any caches found to put soemting up but yet if someone trys to sell that has not been caching for a long time or has not finds they almost always get hacked by someone busting their chops. Now there is the problem that no mater what someone post for an asking price someone has to chime in and flame them about what they are asking. Im sorry we all own something and everything has is value to each person. So what give people the right to publicly attack them on the forum and basicly destry any hope of making a sale on this forum?? I feel the moderators need to start monitoring these attacks. Again I love this forum but the additude in the garage sale is far from the friendly area of the rest of the site. Some of the posts I have seen in the last week or so in here have been far from friendly.
  21. I second the Bolt browser. This rocks now. I have been trying every browser available for my Tour but up until I got Bolt everything was sub standard. With bolt I can actually read the pages with very little effort. Now I am very happy to come visit the site on my Blackberry.
  22. Has anyone used the Blackberry tour for Where I go? If so where would I go to get the programs I need to do this?
  23. Wow so glad I am not alone with the 255W must be one of the more popular models. I know I love mine for Paperless.
