  1. Same issues with Magellan software. This stretch of highway lies within Area 51 aka CFB Gagetown.
  2. Hey Res your gonna love the east coast. Try: GCRDVH Then: GCQZ9E at night. Victoria Park in Truro is an awesome day. I think I found 18 from GC19GRD but its quite a hike up and down. Have a safe summer.
  3. Holy Crap I got it. Grabbed the maps .imi files from my c drive. Had to get a copy of easygps to convert .loc files to .gs files. Everything else was just drop and drag onto a card reader. We are up and running!
  4. uh-oh... same problem today tried 2 different usb cords on 2 different pc's and can't recognize.
  5. Canadian Culture...Trailer Park Boys...Nuff Said... ...Actually East Coast Nova Scotian culture...uh really... On Topic - Maybe we could set up a geocacher exchange program and find some of those terrific UK geocaches? Oh ya and get som pix of those there crop circle thingys.
  6. LOL Hmmm...looks like the old Magellan with the stripped threads has found more than three times as many caches than the Garmin. LOL
  7. Way To Go TRHW...The international orienteering symbol... Your Question please
  8. This is the international symbol or flag for what? Dave
  9. Stewiacke has a Tims and a mastodon...Oh ya and a big sign on the highway that says you are on the 45th. I think thats all they got.
  10. Hmmm... Everybody from Nova Scotia would know about the mastodon in Stewiacke that lies half way between the equator and north pole.
  11. What a sad day for sure. Our sincere condolences to family and wishing a speedy recovery for Sue. 1701eh seemed to always influence my outdoor living. Tony placed my first cache find. 1701eh is responsible for the cache listed in my mailbox. My first organized day out with a fellow geocacher was with Tony. I have truly lost a great friend. Rest In Peace Tony. David and Jeanette
  12. Was the publication Astounding SF, actually written as a blurb of science fiction rather than science fact? I think I've read them all. But, A.C.C has been known to write about Lagrange points as well.
  13. I kinda like this idea. Why are all them satellites directly over the equator and would you weigh less during a full moon or a low tide?
  14. um...holy freaking wow...geez...on a normal day eh? Q1 - nine Q2 - one and a half I really hope I don't get this right.
  15. Q2 - that is correct! The only frog, I'm told, that you can hear a mile away (1.6km for imperial impaired folks) Q4 - that's correct too, but I'm looking to quantify the years. Take a stab at it, I'll give it to anyone if they're within 10 years either way (largely because I've since found several conflicting numbers but all seem to be within the same range). Q4 - Those things look really old...I'll say 117 years?!
  16. Being a CWACN I am going to have to place my name on the GFBOE list as apposed to the KOTBFL list. Sounds like fun.
  17. CONGRATULATIONS TONY 1701eh finds his one thousand seven hundred and first cache. Of special note: My first cache find was one of Tony's. 1701eh is directly responsible for the cache in my mailbox. My only ever-organized day of caching was with 1701eh. I ran along side him and found 17 that day. Good Luck Tony and see you at 3402 eh. Dave
  18. Forgive my newness to the sport Have a careful look at GCDD5. When I first found this cache it was ready for garbage and archiving but rather than doing so I have began 'babysitting' this cache. The newest owner of this cache has not had a visit in 18 months but the cache continues to do what it was intended to do. I like some of the ideas I have read here like the need for an option to adopt maybe after all avenues to contact owners, needs maintience and needs archiving are exhausted. The careful key to this may be at what point is a cache considered abandoned. We don't need old caches turning into garbage and piling up in the woods. Geocachers are a keen bunch that always seem to clean up, fix up, patch up, repair, help out and generally care about the sport they enjoy and its impact on places and people. I am certain that this discussion can only lead to a good cause. Just my thoughts Dave
  19. Hey this is Canada eh! All three officers in Halton (Milton) have already met their fair share of geocachers. Have a look at GCR2PZ. This guy watched me criss-cross the main street all night with a flashlight on my head. When he actually asked me what was going on he was more than helpful in locating a side street in town. Cops have the best gpsr's. Your gonna love Milton and Halton offers some great caching.
  20. Jen along with Santa Clause in her never-ending pursuit to make my life happier and easier has supplied the ultimate geocaching Christmas. An eXplorist 600 with Canada Topo MapSend. Car charger and soft case for above. A 3 pack Tupperware. I have been out a few times already and all I can say is WOW. Thanks Jen I hope everyone had a great Christmas. See ya on the trails.
  21. Hey Ralph; Congrats on a perfect ending to a perfect milestone day. Thanks for dropping by my cache. Everyone had a good laugh. THE BUNNY is here with me right now. See ya on the trails during your next 2100 and more... Dave
