  1. What is reasonable varies from person to person. Some people can't maintain a cache 2 miles from their home. Others maintain caches hundreds of miles away quite nicely. I have 2 caches that are over 200 miles from home. I visit the area fairly regularly. 60 miles away, in an area that you visit a dozen times a year sounds like it could sufficiently be maintained. I don't think you'd have a problem getting that published. lornix, are you really that much of a snob?
  2. My 60CSx seems to be very accurate. As far as having to be moving goes, when it gets me near GZ and it is still confused I just lay it down and take a break till it gets itself sorted out. Many of the Caches I have found it has put me at zero feet and yep there it was. I have been know to be sitting on the hiding place that my 60 said was GZ. There are some Caches that the CO has not provided accurate coord's, and I don't care what unit you are using GI=GO as far as the coord's are concerned. Work on developing your Geosense, and Good Finding!
  3. Thanks for your service.
  4. The clip on youtube is great! thanks for sharing. Yes thanks for sharing.
  5. Try this URL & good finding! http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showforum=21
  6. Do I stuff my kid into the ammo box or just leave him stitting beside it? You mean like this? SAMMO-CAN by Babybackpackers Looove It!
  7. After I posted it dawned on me that you probably already had a hand held. If you get one, post how it works for you.
  8. By the time you buy the Geomate and the required cable to go to your PC you will be very close to spending as much as you would on a low end unit that will be a lot more useful.
  9. I just use Groundspeak. I enter my zip code and it then shows me which ones I have found and the ones I have yet to find. May be a simplistic answer but that's how I do it. EDITED: to add that I just write the info on sticky notes that your wife wants.
  10. Yeh, what is said above. Love mine.
  11. I use a Garmin 60CSx. Not sure about your unit but my best guess would be that the Cache is within that blue dot. When that happens you must be very close. If you have already found a Cache plug it into your unit and go to it, if it changes to a blue dot when you get close that may be your answer.
  12. You may want to Google Letterboxing and check out Waypoint on Groundspeak. Happy Finding!
  13. I don't know if this will answer your question or not. Try going to My Controls on the forum page and selected the ones you want to be notified when a post appears. You can do this by thread or forum.
  14. Well Said! That is the path I try to follow.
  15. Go to YouTube and search under Geocacheing, lots of good info there.
  16. If you downloaded to your Garmin, check under the find button for Geocaches.
  17. I think that TPTB should fix the Forums so you are only allowed to post one time for each Cache found. ;>]
  18. Some devious Cache Hiders put little chips in there Cache to cause this to happen. Just kidding.
  19. Enjoy Cacheing and don't worry about being the "LOG POLICE", and I don't mean that to be snippey.
  20. Talk to your local Cache Reviewer. You may be able to hide a real cache and then when the project is over disable it.
  21. It's the year 2525 And basically the song goes that if man survives to 2525 he may find 3535. Which implies that if we can survive till 2525, then we will survive till 3535. The question is, will we? By then I will have to put new batteries in my Garmin 60csx.
