  1. Please give us a summary of these. I need to get my racer started, but won't be here for the next GP event and would like my racer to go with me to CT. 04 December 2010 - KZN Sandpit Christmas Event (GC2GC9W) by DiePienaars05 December 2010 - Fine Wine 3: A Season to celebrate (GC2H995) by cownchicken 11 December 2010 - Breakfast At Uncle Scrooge Palace (GC2HTCV) by Team_vdlo 11 December 2010 - Celebrating 2010 in the Lowveld (GC2JPZV) by Bouts777 15 December 2010 - QC X - December 2010 - Mall @ Reds (GC2J7QK) by Wormgeocash
  2. Yes, I know that website, they are legit and do not sell grey imports - you get a full locally supported guarantee. They have a physical (home)shop and a published Centurion phone number too. I have been buying from Basil for years, have successfully recommended them numerous times, and heard no complaints as yet - only good service. Yes, if you buy from them, you need to add the price of at least one map to that price. There are a few maps to choose from, R999 upwards. On your decision of which model to get, I can only say "Good luck".

    Where am I?

It looks a bit like you taking a rest while working in my garden
  4. Yep, three of them were Land Surveyors. I was running out of clues anyway, and had one name left ... Go cnc!
  5. Ummm... not sure, maybe. Not what I'm after though. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln all had extensive experience in the profession of ***. Teddy Roosevelt, though very distinguished in his military and political careers, did not. Sir Thomas Maclear did it too...
  6. Cook - sailor, *** , cartographer and explorer - was born in 1728, in Yorkshire. In the course of his illustrious career, he sailed into every ocean and was one of the first, if not the first, British explorers to set foot on most of the world's major continents. He was also the first to cross both the Arctic and Antarctic Circles. - and - British explorer Captain James Cook, who was born in 1728, sailed into every ocean. Not only did he explore, but he also ***. These are just a few of the *** who you may not have realized were *** as they achieved fame as explorers and not ***.
  7. Adding two more names to the list: Captain James Cook Prof Charles Merry, owner of Sentinel View (GC185)
  8. Nope. I'll speed things up a bit: Looking for a profession, same as Sir George Everest's occupation.
  9. Nope. As far as I know, they were ALL presidents.
  10. In some circles, Mount Rushmore is also referred to as "Three *** and some other guy". What is the occupation mentioned here?
  11. The word Kruger"plein" would either indicate Dutch or Flemish, and recalling some history, I'd go for Amsterdam first, then perhaps Brussels.
  12. The only way to know when a cache was published, is by the date of the published log, however, that type of log only came into use much later than the first caches. What I'm trying to say that most (or all) of the old caches does not have a published log, and thus is of no help.
  13. Carbon Hunter, I also thought along those lines, but ran into some problems: It is on private property, and the farm was sold twice since 2001. I had the name of the current farm owner, but never bothered to contact him for permission, since his workers are staying really close to the original spot. Also, GS does not allow unarchiving a cache for the purpose of adopting by someone else. As you see, I tried, but eventually just placed GCZA01.2 (GC1RNAY)
  14. The first South-African cache GCZA01 (GC163) contained a Navision Software Wristwatch, which I think will just be perfect! Cannot think of a better opportunity to set it free, after being in my swag-bag for almost ten! years.
  15. The Promise - can't wait! Probably with some interest - compounded, of coarse!
  16. The first day of school for next year is: Wednesday 12 January 2011 for the inland provinces and Wednesday 19 January 2011 for the coastal provinces. Doc's suggestion would make the Cape Event the week-end of 8/9 Jan 2011 and the Northerners can use the more correct date, between the 14th and the 17th, being the period the first cache was then waiting to be found.

    Where am I?

    Ag nee man Wurm...
  18. Can't miss it! For the out of towners, there are some great caches nearby too!

    Where am I?

That's the one! I'm sure you have plenty pics, please feel free to answer. (Crossposted - work interfered)

    Where am I?

Hallo to you too! Now we're getting somewhere... The dam in view is correct, as is the direction of view. Mountain range is the same one too, but I doubt if a cache in North-West province can be classified as a Pretoria cache? No cigar yet.

    Where am I?

Harties, yes. View to the north, Schurveberg or Confessions, No. Come on RedGlobe - you found this one

    Where am I?

Huh-uh, none of the above. No, not the Magalies. Same city though - different mountain.
  24. Jors

    Where am I?

True... but they seemed to have abdicated, so made a call. Nope, different mountain. Nope, I don't recall seeing a distant dam from Groenkloof?
