  1. Or somebody could be collecting containers in your area. I hope it the former and not the latter. Actually I thing the container is there but the log sheet was replaced?
  2. I have been in touch with both and it sound like someone just swapped my log for their "card". I will correct this tomorrow!
  3. I have a cache that was placed in July and has 27 finds. The last person to look for it I think found it buy they said they found the decoy but not the real deal? I sent them a message and the said they found an M&M tube in a tree with a laminated card "This is a Decoy" My cache was an M&M tube with log sheet in a tree. Has anyone else ever had this happen to their cache?
  4. One of our new Baton Rouge cachers, Cajunrainbeaux has planned a meet & greet at La Madeline's on Jefferson highway Tuesday evening the 17th @ 6:30. The "event cache" was submitted tool late and did not get published. If you think you might be able to make it please send her a note vickiberg@cox.net. Thanks Pat & Squirt
  5. My daily PQ has not run since the 10th. Is there a site issue?
  6. You must drive at least 20 miles before you find that your pocket query didn't actually copy to your GPSR.
  7. Our first hide was in a public park. A 4 quart tupperware contained painted camo. We place it Sept 1, 2001. It went missing around mid October 2001. I guess we did not do a good job of hiding it :-) GC1A2D (archived)
  8. We have a card we give to people who want to know what we are doing. We have only left them in a few caches of freind so they know we were there.
  9. I don't know about yours but my GPSR doesn't like tunnels at all! Maybe it's an offset. Coords bring you to the opening then you have to walk 12,000 paces inward?
  10. Well I didn't care for the light it shed on Geocaching but..... It happened here last year. Cacher found a skeleton wearing nothing but tennis shoes. GC1DN54
  11. You might want to add restrictions like no night caching or only hunt between 1:00PM & 1:05 PM on the second Friday the 13th of the month. ps I've have a cache on my own property since March of 08 without incident.
  12. Nice to know I made somebody's list and it wasn't a $%& List :-) 146 and climbing
  13. How about "the cache formally known as Summer Fun" is now year round fun!
  14. Ah yes flask.... back in the day! Back in the day the only cache around was a half hour wade through a mosquito infested swamp to an ammo can full of poker cards and carabineers and a Harlequin novel. Now those were the day’s boy. My Eagle Explorer took an hour to find a signal and don’t go behind an oak tree or your signal is history. Batteries lasted two hours at best. Then it was off to the next cache some 45 miles away. Yep “Back in the Day!
  15. Thanks Chrysalides I just added it it to one of my mystery caches.
  16. iphone 3G, Oregon 400t & the wife. not necessarily in that order.
  17. From a hider's point of view. I have a few puzzle caches out there And I do not know how to go about adding a "solution check" to my page. Instructions welcome!
  18. If you have the proper equipment you can drill out anything! Of course you have to be careful where you hide them.
  19. My wife and I cache together all the time. She has a Colorado and I the Oregon. There is seldom a time the two units agree. There is always .002-.003 difference. I know this is only 8-15 feet but it does increase our search area.
  20. I must agree with the arrows What mistake are they about to make?
  21. On another note... Once I find it I go back and delete the DNF log. Does any one else do this. Does it mess up the cache's stats?
  22. On the DNF issue we recently put out a series of "Another dead end Caches" and one in particular is harder that the rest. It has only one find on Sept 1st and no DNFs but I have gotten numerous messages and phone calls asking for a hint. Why are cachers so hesitant to log a DNF. Do you feel there is a stigma attached to the "failure" of not finding it?
  23. Thanks Jeep4two I had a nuvi 385t that went out. That is what led me to try and autoroute with the Oregon. I know I used to do it with my etrex Legend and assumed the Oregon would do it also. Anyway the issue is not an issue any more. I returned the nuvi and got a nuvi 1490T to replace it. So far so good!
