  1. Got it with the great hint. Hmm, only 232 miles away. Maybe someday.
  2. Now why didn't I think of that. Always a day late and a dollar short. (slap's self in forehead) Now THAT doesn't sound ethical. I wonder if there is something in the membership agreement preventing the sale of PQ's. It seems to me that among these cache locations there will be premium-only caches which the bidder may not even log (and shouldn't actually have access to). Sounds like theft of service to me. Actually, doesn't Groundspeak reserve the right to transfer of this information? Of course, if you're at all serious about caching you'd probably buy more than 10 of these in a year which would be the break even point for premium membership. And there are other advantages to premium membership. Wow, no shipping charge. They want your email address so they can attach the compressed file to it. What a deal! I can't see them selling many (if any) of these. Dennis
  3. In the very small group of cachers that I personally know, there are three eagle scouts. My son is one and I work with two others. I'd like to know statistically what the percentage of scouts in the geocaching community is. Dennis
  4. Yup. I have two new PQ submitted last night...over 12 hours ago and no results yet...submitted copies of them and tried making new ones with same criteria and still nothing is generating. Very frustrating as I want to load my gps before I head to europe so I can do some caching there. I leave tomorrow!!! Yesterday and today same issues. Has anyone responsible ever explained what is going on? It's not like I do this that often, either. Maybe once a month I'll do the PQ. Wasn't it one of the perks for the premium membership? I don't know that I'm getting my money's worth.
  5. Sorry for the double post. It timed out the first time and I thought it never went through. Dennis
  6. I am having the same problem today and I use a gmail account. I also tried an alternate address with no luck. Actually, out of three requests since early this morning (eastern time), only one ran and I never received it. This site is running like molasses at times, also, particularly the forums. Dennis

  8. For anyone interested, you can see the video here. Click on the "Video" tab above the image to see the story as it aired. Check it soon, they tend to rotate out quickly. tvtech
  9. Good to know for the future. Thank you. tvtech
  10. I did that cache (June 9th). I was way off and my dog got the find. He pulled it out of its hiding place and tossed it around - proud as can be. We originally were going to place a cache with some type of voucher in it good for a prize (you'd have to come to the station to pick it up) but assumed that geocaching.com would consider it a commercial venture and not allow it so we never pursued it. By the way, my wife and I love the Finger Lakes area and Southern Tier. We get out that way a couple times a year and do the winery tours and generally hang out to relax. Got to love it there in the autumn. tvtech
  11. It will likely be on our website. I'll check and let you know. tvtech
  12. WIVB-TV in Buffalo (channel 4) will run a short feature on geocaching during the 5PM news on Thursday, November 20, 2008. It will showcase the sport from the finder's point of view as well as someone placing a cache. There is a group of us at the station involved in caching and it got the attention of a news producer. Hopefully it will encourage some new participants in the area. tvtech
