I have seen the following: Deer, Wild Turkeys, Coyotes, Bobcats, Rattlesnakes, Wild Pigs and one Cougar while caching. The most dangerous to me are deer as the may jump where you are going. Kind of nervous animals I'd say.
I normally ride a couple of days of the week (helps being retired) and look for caches along the bike trail I use. If the weather dries up soon I am going and try to finish up one section of the local bike trail that has caches.
Plus one on the eXplorist 310. I just bought one in September and really like it. I did some geocaching back in 2004 with a Meridian Gold and when I decided to start up again I bought the 310 and have no regrets.
The forum has been quite slow for me as I will read a post and try to go to a different post and it just sits there saying connecting and it doesn't connect. I am in the Pacific Time Zone (California) and it happens on an off all day long.
It depends on the cache. Some I drive to the area where it is, others I hike to as I am close to a park with several caches and some others I go to on a bicycle.
I know what you feel like. I looked for four caches today and found none. I have restarted geocaching after a eight year layoff and it is frustating, considering that I have done this before.
I am finally getting back to doing Geocaching. I did it for a year or so back in 2004 & 2005 then just stopped. I am going to start up and have some fun again. I have a Magellan Meridian Gold and have a eXplorist 310 on the way. This time I should be doing it for a while.
Just downloaded your toolbar and tried it out. It is a great help for geocaching. It is very nice to have people such as you do things for the group

Hello,
My name is Rudy. I have been caching for about 3 weeks. Was looking for information about GPS rcvrs for bicycle touring. Found this group. Bought myself a Meidian Gold which will work for bicycling and geocahing. Have been able to find a few caches here in San Jose, CA . Expect to have a lot of fun. I also am a ham. Call sign KK6U.
I Ordered a Magellan Gold for use while bicycling and was just looking in the Dogpile Search Engine for GPS information and ran across the Geo Cache Web Site. I was able to find one Cache without a GPS (Lucky I Guess) The GPS hasn't arrived yet, but I do have a Magellan 2000 that I will use in the mean time. Having a lot of fun. Will be doing a lot more soon
Rudy
