  1. Sounds like a neat Pirate coin! Be sure to post the picture of it when you get a chance... we'd love to see which one this is! Maybe 'this one'?
  2. Thanks for posting these... we know that THEY ARE OUT THERE, but of course, much more rare than those sitting in our homes/collections. Very cool looking coins!
  3. Mezzo and I are in... we LOVE Pet/Dog missions!
  4. Mission Complete! Thanks for the challenge (though it wasn't really that HARD to do :-) ).... we LOVED it. Les & Elisa
  5. Found this with my daughter yesterday... I'm not much of a 'cat' fan, but this "Cool Cat" coin was, well, just cool!
  6. Lets! Be sure to let me know when you head this way. As for 'maintaining' caches that have been left alone too long... thats a great idea. I've done some of that here in Rio, but since some of the caches were placed by 'beginning' cachers, several are just not salvageable as they sat. Adoption (then move) is an option for those weaker and lost caches, but because those cachers are not active any more, its hard to get them to 'hand the cache over'. SO, the only thing to do is to leave an 'archive this cache' note, and hope that people read them before trying to find them. Take care Carlos, and hope to meet you soon with a cache in your hand :-) - Savoy
  7. Nice to meet you Carlos! We have a small group that likes to get together sometimes here in Rio... next time your headed this way, give us a warning and we'll try and pull something together. I'm not sure what is happening there in SP... but in RJ, we have a small but growing group. Sadly, most caches are still be logged by non-Brazilians (like me - I'm an American, living here in RJ). Most of the group that gets together here, are from Rio. Keep caching out there in Sao Paulo! - Savoy
  8. That happens A LOT, but we're happy to hear stories and see pictures of those "survivors" still out there and moving around!!! We hope you'll post your 'I Still Here" pictures soon. Take care! Savoy
  9. It should... neat coin!! Thanks for sharing it, Sav
  10. I picked this up in the US for the trip back to south american - Brazil. Its TomKat's Seasons GC. Very beautiful!!
  11. I logged a January 2007 Signal the Frog coin. A very nice coin!
  12. Sorry about that... must have been this one. A very nice coin too!
  13. This one? Wow.... that is a wonderful looking coin.
  14. No coins in all those caches you've been logging out there?!! All kidding aside, the last few caches that had coins I was excited to see where MIAs. Take care! Savoy
  15. The "Fu" (Blessing) coin, is just wonderful!!! Congratulations... I have a new coin for my 'wish' list I got these over the last week. Now, time to pack these babies up for the trip home to Rio.
  16. This is an idea for a Geocaching meets paintball game that would be played at a event coming up soon. Anyone try something like this one already? Below is the message I posted with my 'first cut' idea. Suggestions? ******************* As for our, GeocacheBall game… lets assume for a moment that we ‘can’ arrange something on-site or at the small field just off-site. I haven’t had too much time to think about this yet, but one scenario I was thinking about went something like this: GeoSplat (~2 hours) To win the game: Find and locate Geocaches hidden within a game-field collecting geo-splatball points following directions found in the geocache. The team with the highest score after a pre-described period, wins. Setup: * Multiple 2 or 3 -person teams (no more than 10 teams) * Geocaches (one or more for each team starting in the field). * A ‘card’ for each player attached to their wrist or jacket by string. * Each team gets a 10 minute 'head-start' to find their first geocache without being targets of other teams. Ground Rules: In honor of the Geocaching Guidelines Maintenance: GeoSplat Caches are placed just prior to the game. Contents: In addition to having special geoswag granting ‘gifts’ to the players to be used during the game, players use special markers to both sign the log and to mark their game card. Permanence: Players killed in the game have their ‘cards’ removed and return to the starting point for 10 minutes. After getting a new card they may return to their team. Proximity: There is a safe-zone of 81 meters or 264 feet around each cache. Shots taken in the close proximity zone of the cache will not count for purposes of the game. General Paintball Rules that Apply 1. All players must begin the game at starting location and cannot leave that area until the game begins. 2. Players who are hit return to the starting location and wait for a ten minute period. 3. Players who are eliminated may not, by word or gesture, indicate any intentions or locations of the opposing team members until the wait period is over. 4. If a player is eliminated they should surrender their card and then using the field’s described method (usually holding the paint gun above your head or hands in the ‘up’ position) return to the waiting area. The Game 1. Geocacher-Splatball Players must locate a geocache, sign the log and mark their card with the colored pen indicated. 2. All team members should sign the log and mark their card but this is not required. 3. Players that are eliminated give their card to their victim and pick up a new card before returning to the field. Scoring 1 point for each different color marked on their card (no points received for cards lost, but if a player has multiple cards due to multiple ‘kills’, they may use any one card for their score. 2 points for each cache located and signed. 3 bonus points for each team visiting 5 geocaches (can be taken multiple times) 4 bonus points (ending the game with your starting card) **************** This of course is just an 'idea' - hoping to generate more.... I just hoping to get some juices flowing :-)
  17. One of these should be showing up soon... enjoy!
  18. Awesome! I 'should have' run into around 5 coins in the caches I visited this week... but none were there. I did run into a 'hybrid' coin and few TBs. The "Unite for Diabetes" (TB1B64Q) was there, so I'm moving it back 'on course.' It a little non-trackble coin with a TB tag - a neat, simple little coin with a wonderful message.
  19. Just adding my "Amen" to the list here - WOW, just wonderful looking coins - all of them. Very well done. My Set is reserved!!
  20. I got these today... I think everyone has seen them before - but I'm VERY excited to get new coins becuase I have to wait so long between visits to the US.
  21. I'm actually easy when it comes to coins... but if I had to press myself to pick a top 5 it would look like this: 1. GeoDog (I'm not sure about the name, buts shaped like a dog bone and is designed to be 'worn' by my black lab!) 2. Geometeacher's Geocoin 3, It's Not All About the Numbers 4. The Caching Bug (LE Gold Glitter) 5. Saffier & Stekelsteef Diving Helmet or DiverVan (actually any dive theme works) And on a side note, are there they may of us into geocoins that are ALSO divers? Humm... just noticing a theme here.
  22. I picked up this coin today to take back to the U.S.A. from Rising Cache (Rio Brazil). I left it in the plastic bag it was in, but it is just beautiful, and a fun idea.
  23. I found these by way of 2202 today and placed in the Rising Cache (Rio de Janeiro). Very cool coins - go France!
  24. Update! and good news. Well, my cache GC1PM2Z got published today by a very nice reviewer from Mexico who says he'll be trying to help us out in Brazil. I never heard what (if any) problem there was with it, me, or the system so the 'hold up' is still a mystery. I really appreciated the help (for all of us in Brazil)... I'm meeting some new geocaching friends in from out of the country, and have one more cool (I think) cache to recommend! Take care! Savoy
  25. Just an update... 2 weeks and still no word on this cache approval... nothing from the reviewer (not been reviewed yet - I've send a couple of nice notes), and nothing from GS (two notes sent) on getting help the reviewer. I was worried that the Reviewer was sick or had an accident, but as it turns out... they been publishing caches in Spain and Portugal consistently through out the two week period we've been waiting. - Savoy
