  1. I've already forgotten what he looks like..... Good to see you're coming back TL!
  2. Thanks Chris! It sure was a great adventure I'll never forget! Way to go, John! Been too long since I saw you or Chris. Yeah... well... that's your fault for repeatedly trying to hurl yourself down a mountainside whenever we hike together. Don't exaggerate, it was just the once. I don't know. If I remember correctly, you scared a few times on Aix as well.

  4. Congratulations to evergreenhiker! for earning his 3500 the hard way, on French Peak!
  5. Prayers for your recoveries Dick. Let us know if you need anything.
  6. Give him my best and if he's up for visitors let me know where he is. K7XFE

Who's Miranda? I had no idea you had an airedale. That's the funny part; she doesn't have an Airedale!
  8. Kenny's Dead Kenny's Dead. Again. Both are long gone.
  9. Get better soon! Happy Thanksgiving. Ack! Feel better there TL!
  10. I'm thinking of dragging up to Mt O'Neil on Sunday, after overnighting at Moonshine Flats on Saturday night. This weather can't hold out much longer.
  11. Looks like just one car. It's happened over here too. My guess is that it was a stolen car, brought there and burned to cover evidence (as well as give them a thrill) These are cars left overnight at the trailhead by backpackers heading up the trail. Do you know what trail heads this has happened at? You are sure it was backpackers cars?? "These pictures were posted in a TR for the Duckabush Trail" The TR is here.

  13. There's even bigger drama out there than a few missing caches. Some clown or clowns are torching cars at trailheads in Jefferson County. These pictures were posted in a TR for the Duckabush Trail- parked at the trailhead.
  14. Strange? I'm the original owner, not the current owner. The archive request is all I can do. There is a sign posted at the trailhead that specifically prohibits geocaches- even has the geocache symbol with a red slash through it. It is very doubtful they would grant permission given their request that hikers stay on the trail. I'm surprised you weren't able to read that in the log.
  15. The cache did not survive the fire. Details on the cache page. This is all that was left. The container was completely gone, and all of the contents except for these:
  16. The word on the trails is that Duckabush is open to hikers. I'm planning to head up this weekend to check the cache. Short drive for me, not so much for most. I'm planning to drive in the night before and hit the trail at sun-up. Day TBD.
  17. I wonder if the father was on the same stretch of trail we were..."the father was in a position where crews could not reach him." I got the impression from the article that they didn't use the trail, but went in cross-country from some other point. It would be pretty hard to get lost using the trail. Falling off the trail is another story altogether.
  18. Ironman114 sends: Apparently, Klone Lakes is hard to find for some people.
  19. The Duckabush trail is still closed due to last year's fire. They don't expect it open until the end of the summer. They just closed the Mt Ellinore Trail due to aggressive goats. Six months in jail and you'll miss the whole summer.
  20. Happy Birthday and 73s Dick! K7XFE
  21. Good MPH? Or good MPG? The two are usually mutually exclusive. The Jeep Hemi will provide an abundance of the former, and precious little of the latter.
  22. Wow! HOMs are always an adventure, sometimes too much so. Glad you kept your head through all that and that you're ok.
  23. Let me tell you, I (Mr. USPS Mailman) delivered every address, every snow day, every letter, every package. The transition/slush day was the worst. Traction was next to nill! Do we work for the same government? I got all three days off with pay. It almost got to where I was looking forward to coming in today. Almost.
  24. That alone is worth the price of admission!
